Some boredom is necessary ![]() |
I will not believe that FCPS is changing admissions decisions until I read it in the Washington Post. I just don’t see FCPS going though with it. |
Well they did so ![]() |
Verifiable source? |
The Post is now a wire service. They will wait on the press release and regurgitate it with a click-bait headline and the dummy reporter’s name under it. Anybody know if Hannah is as real person or a bot that lends a humanistic touch to an AI generated story? |
The admissions portal is still missing the “Decision” tab. I don’t believe anyone who says that they have heard the updated result yet. |
+1 - I also heard that a kid from my child’s school’s decision handed from acceptance to waitlisted. |
Decision tab is back!! |
They have changed decisions. |

Are you speaking from first-hand experience for your child? |
Interest in TJ is waning. There were 3034 applications for the Class of 2025, but only 2544 for the Class of 2026, and this decline was BEFORE the latest debacle relating to the FARMS status of applicants.
Really, if FCPS wanted to destroy the TJ brand, they could not have done a better job: * Trash TJ parents and students publicly as toxic, test-prepped, wealthy cheats engaged in a "pay-to-play" scam; * Make changes to the admissions process that weren't adequately vetted or fully understood by the School Board members voting to approve them; * Host venues for warring factions of TJ parents to insult each other at PTA meetings; * Prompt a federal judge to deem the admissions changes in violation of the Constitution; * Allow a group of math teachers to call out collectively the students in the Math 4 sequence as a bunch of low-performing slackers with poor study habits; * Leave families hanging as to whether kids admitted to the Class of 2026 might have their offers rescinded; and * Inconvenience administrators at every other high school in the county by potentially requiring them to take on additional students they'd previously understood would be attending TJ. TJ is now a sad shell of what it used to be and its tattered reputation seems unlikely to improve any time soon. |
Let's get rid of it!! |
Doubtful. This is fake news. |
