Depends. I don't drink any alcohol. An acquaintance of mine would drink three bottles if you told her they were free, and try to shove a fourth in her purse for later. A friend of mine always has only one glass per day - sometimes less, but never more.

So you need to know how much the people in your group drink.

I say 4 wine, 2 bubbly and make sure to have sparkling water, soda, etc., just in case someone isn’t drinking.

I think it also depends on what the event is. If it’s a book club that gets together every now and then, and only spent an hour or 2 together, four would be fine. But if you’re like my crew that can talk for hours and hours and hours and hours, you’re gonna need at least six!
