Stages of losing belly fat?

What are the observable changes when losing belly fat?

For context, I'm 45 female, 162, 5'6". I have a few inches to lose off of my waist, but I also experience regular bloating in the upper abdomen. When not bloated, I see squishy, foldable rolls. Sometimes my stomach looks bumpy. With the bloating, it's hard to track inches lost. (I recently started an antacid, pantoprazole, for excess stomach acid and it's definitely helping with the constant bloating.)

I realized at 42 that i have a gluten issue. Not celiac but if i eat too much in a day i bloat. Talked with my dr and said the amount of enzyme that breaks down gluten is reduced for me so after its all used up for the day i feel was worse and more gas. Consciously limit bread and other things and feel so much better. Like i can have a bagel or some pizza or pasta just not both in one day. Im

You don't loose belly fat, you lose fat. You can't control wear it comes off.

There is no magic to loosing weight. You need to burn more calories than you consume.

You know when you are eating stuff you shouldn't be. Don't do it. Find a good balance of things you like that are healthy and stick to it. Eat more protein heavy meal right after you exercise.

+1 you need to consume at least 30 grams of protein at your first meal. I get my protein from eggs, chicken, salmon, beef, pork.

You also need to count calories, and eat in an upside down triangle fashion. Biggest meal in the morning, smallest in the evening.

You can’t control where fat deposits. You are likely the same shape as your relatives. Do they have belly fat? There you go.
The best you can do is lose pounds.

That's one way. You can also try not to eat before 11 or within 2 hours of bed which also can improve metabolism

Did none of you read the OP? No one answered the question and went on totally unrelated rants.

OP, my fat gets squishy and lumpy looking, like marbles under my skin, before I have a big whoosh of weight loss and that look goes away.

Asking the PP, isn't there a period of loose/flabby skin even if can sense more ab definition under the surface? How can you tighten the skin?

If you ever figure it out, let me know.

I’m down nearly 50lbs, after my nearly 3 year journey of weight loss and sobriety.

Everything, I mean absolutely everything, looks so much better now. Except my damn stomach.

Started doing core exercises with dumbbells and medicine balls just the last few weeks hoping to see progress.

Oh yes, core work will 100% help. Stick with it.

You have to modify your diet first and then increase exercise. What has always worked for me is regular workouts that include cardio and weights 4-5 times a week. I do cardio warm up (10-15 mins) and then alternate upper body and lower body weighted exercises. I do abs at every workout - either crunches on exercise ball or similar. It takes about 45 mins to an hour for me to complete workout.

Also, drink a lot of water everyday and limit alcohol to nights out or weekends. I also take a fiber supplement everyday which keeps everything moving and helps with bloating.

What fiber supplement do you take?
