It’s hyperbole but I feel like I must be one of the oldest females still going through this. I just turned 56 for cripes sake.
No sign of cycles slowing down. Aunt Flo just keeps returning. It doesn’t seem fair! I started on the late side.. age 15… but not unusually so. My mother had menopause early, in her late 30s actually, so I thought that might be my pattern too. At 45 I thought about buying a Diva cup but figured why waste the money? I didn’t know a ten year investment would have been worth it. Just PMS venting… |
Ha I don't know when my mom hit menopause but I know she was complaining that she shouldn't have to buy tampons by the time she joined the AARP. |
I'm 53 and am things are finally beginning to slow down, but it is not easy. Best wishes, OP! |
I’m 51 and just finally skipping every other period. |
Buy the diva cup now and you’ll never bleed again! ![]() |
I am 55 and still going strong! |
You know... you actually have a decent point there! |
I menstruated until 56. The kicker? I never had a baby; I’m an adoptive mom. Mother Nature’s joke on me! |
Oh no ladies don’t say that! Almost 47 and completely regular still. |
Solidarity sister! I feel like women who can remember the Apollo 11 Moon landing (well vaguely, anyhow) should not still be buying tampons. |
Joining the ranks of not slowing down a bit at age 55. My ob says maybe 60?! I'm finally at the point where I need iron infusions due to low hemoglobin/ferritin. (I'm also a runner, so may not be just my period) Hysterectomy has been suggested, but I keep thinking this has got to end eventually........ |
I have a very clear memory of my GRANDMOTHER saying she was out of tampons and “Aunt Flo” was coming soon, so we needed to stop by the store. I was in MIDDLE SCHOOL. I was prob 12, so my mom would have been 46 and my grandma would have been 64. Still with regular periods.
So, I’ve got that to look forward to. Both she and her husband were born when their mother’s were 45 years old. I’m hoping all this means that a third child will be an option for me in a year when I’m 40. |
I just turned 56 and I am still at it. The only difference is the last four or five months have not been like clockwork. Sometimes 1 or 2 weeks late. The periods used to be horribly heavy but that has recently gotten a little bit better. |
My grandma had twins at 52. I am doomed. |
I’m the 55 y o and this is encouraging. I would just like a little let up |
