Coronavirus is very unusual. It's the only virus that can create delusions in people who don't have it.

If you aren't freaked out by coronavirus, something is wrong with you.

Woosh, that went right over your head.

Pretty sure PP got it. My you're stupid. -NP

Vietnam, with 97 million people, responded in January, never had a national lockdown, 300 cases, nobody died.

Vietnam.

We suck.

You can't compare the US to a country we once invaded.

When China said the virus was no big deal, Vietnam knew they were lying, closed the border immediately and quarantined returning citizens.

That seems to be a commonality in Asian countries. Didn’t South Korea and Japan do the same things? They’re more used to disease outbreaks coming from China and they knew how to respond right away.

Yes, also Taiwan and Singapore. They were all ready, but the rest of the world was not.

So, about that whole "Trump was really smart to shut down all that travel from China" thing...

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/pdfs/mm6928a5-H.pdf

The CDC Report released today echoes findings from the May 2020 Report - in short Trump ignored the severity and failed to close the backdoor from the Schengen region - which lead to the accelerated community spread in NYC and NY; this is the 2nd CDC Report that specifically looked at the specimens and the data/science shows COVID-19 came to our shore by international flights from the Schengen Region.

Call it China Flu or whatever, Donald has 15, 19 and now 21 names for it. But he didn't protect our country and has now made it worse than any other country on the planet.

Taiwan for sure. Taiwan is not part of the WHO (due to China's opposition, you know, the whole "One China" thing) so they know they are on their own with regard to global health crises. I think countries in the WHO got a little complacent. There is also zero trust of China in Taiwan, as you might imagine, so when they got word of some kind of virus there, they started up their response right away. They started checking flights from China in the beginning of January.

They never downplayed it? Really? Like, it is one case and it will magically disappear?

These people are pathological liars.

Asians respect science and value their people. The west increasingly greedily grabs short term profits while the titantic goes down.

There is a line between repressed authoritarianism, and common sense leadership. Somehow, Obama was able to strike the line with N1H1 and yet, was crucified by the right on it. yet, the stock market rose, the economy never skipped a beat and schools we never even suggested to close.

Trump and his followers are clearly just pathetic, incompetent losers.
