If your DD wants to play in college it’s important to understand what this means to her. Top D1 lacrosse programs, top D1 academic schools, DII or DIII.
The math is not great for receiving an offer from top D1 programs. About 140-200 players may commit to these teams each year. If the NCAA adopts the rule change next week making lacrosse 11v11 instead of the current 12v12 fewer offers may be made going forward.
This change would certainly impact the middie position. One thought behind the proposed change is the women’s game will become more specialized like the men’s game, meaning more subbing of offensive and defensive specialist.
Don’t worry about wins and losses. Choose the club that competes at a high level and can best support your daughters’’s academic and lacrosse goals.
Can someone explain the proposed NCAA rule changes to me like I'm a dummy (which I am)? Does the 11 v 11 just eliminate a middie?
