I am fifty-three so like many of my peers, I had the ultimate crush 💘 on R&B singer Tevin Campbell.
I had his CD’s as well as posters of him on my walls. My favorite song of his was/is “Can We Talk.” Man he was so adorable > he had the cutest smile & I was totally smitten. Of course I had heard the rumors back then that he was gay - but I thought that is all that they were. Rumors. In his “Can We Talk” music video - I could tell he looked ill at ease + uncomfortable, like he was wearing a fake smile the entire time but chalked it up to him being so young and new to the scene. But now that he is officially out, I know there will NEVER be a chance for us. 😭 Lol. |
| I saw him live back in the day when he opened for Janet Jackson. Great performer. |
| Aww good for him. He was an icon from my childhood era. |
During the peak of his career he was arrested for soliciting a male prostitute. Why are you mentioning this now |
|
^^^ because he’s now ready to share his story

| I’m 52, I thought he came out years ago. Or maybe I thought that it was widely known that he was gay. I never had a crush on him or anything but I also used to love his music. |
| Dang I had a crush on him but I’m 43. I thought he was my age? |
| Worst kept secret in history. |
| He is so not cute now anyway. |
Sad that he felt like like he had to hide since his audience wouldn’t accept him. That’s something the black community really needs to own and address: it’s homophobia. You’d think a group as persecuted as the black community would be better at accepting diversity. |
Eff off! You don't know shit about us. We supported TC even though it was obvious he’s gay. I can’t stand you self-righteous clowns. [PP you quoted] |
Hit a nerve. |
Its. |
Yes, you did. White people need to check their shit instead of judging everyone else. [PP] |
Seriously!! |
