The Montgomery County Board of Elections certified the county’s primary election results Saturday afternoon after counting 101 recently discovered uncounted provisional ballots, narrowing County Executive Marc Elrich’s lead over Potomac businessman David Blair for the Democratic nomination for county executive to 35 votes.
Recount will start soon |
| Lol. Every time David Blair supporters grasp at "so THERE'S A CHANCE!!!" only to be disappointed, I laugh, gleefully. First you thought Elrich would stay behind in the mail in votes. Then you thought Blair would win with the provisionals. Then you thought the extra ballots found would flip the results to Blair. Now you have all your hopes on the recount. Then, what, you're going to pray for a Hail Mary and a Republican victory in a county that's D+50? More Copium! |

Keep laughing - as your property taxes launch through the roof to pay for the services of Northern Triangle citizens who are here as undocumented workers. Blair was your last shot at getting some business growth to the county. Half way through Erlich’s term you will have a tipping point in terms of taxes (Erich will never cut Geno Rennie’s union members their pay)

You’re laughing that your candidate won a primary by 35 votes? Ok. |
+1honestlu, thanks for the reminder Elrich voters are dumb as rock's |
+1 he's become less popular, but sure, keep doing the same thing. |
You have some weird obsession with Gine RENNE. But he's not as powerful as you think. Go compare the sad little raises that MCGEO folks get to IAFF and FOP. That's where the real power is. |
Fair point. For this election though it was Rennie’s ability to neuter Hans that led to Erlich’s victory IMHO. |
Oh are we not allowed to hope the candidate we preferred was elected? So much for freedom of opinions. No one here is recommending a coup. |
| Nope, the evil old hippie rides again! |
I'm laughing that your candidate spent a combined $10 million to lose two elections to an elderly hippie socialist. That's pretty awesome. |
You wish you had 2 pennies to rub. You are jealous that you could never have that amount to spend. |
If I did, I wouldn't spend it on trying to buy myself an election. |
You really shouldn't be. Leggett won his primaries by huge margins. Not by 35 votes. In 2014 he won by 12,000 votes with three people in the race, Duncan and Andrews, both very well known. He was unopposed in 2010. But when he first ran in 2006, he won 67% of the vote over Steve Silverman (also well known). Elrich should really deeply reflect on why half the voters really don't want him to continue in a second term. |
Np But we are the big losers. |
