Now that suddenly Phillip is dead, Harry/Meghan have exited, a pandemic has forced people like Anne to shelter more, and they realized they only have 2 people under the age of 50 - its a problem.

Who could have possibly have seen something blaring down on them like a freight train?

Meh. People will do what they did before and watch the children grow up as they did when Harry and William were young. There's always a new generation on the horizon. The current "young" generation is now married with children, not very interesting for most people to watch.

No one watched William and Harry grow up. They were off in private boarding schools with strict instructions from the media to leave them alone until they graduated from college/military school around 21.

There have always been photos of them growing up. Where have you been?

You mean like the photos they currently release twice a year for George and once a year respectively for Charlotte + Louis.

LOL If you think that's going to cut it with the British media you've got another thing coming. They're piranhas and they've lost their favorite meat - the Sussexs.

Maybe they will take after Uncle Harry and be caught with a Nazi costume on at age 20.

Maybe they will. A lot can happen in 12 years. The thing is the BRF had hard-working and charismatic royals to cover for Harry's mistakes. Andrew is an ass but his Epstein-files certainly shifted a lot of damage. What do they have for George?

Royal intrigue and gossip has existed for centuries. There's always someone new coming along to stir things up. Which of the current kids will be the headline grabbers of tomorrow? Probably Charlotte will get the most attention, the women always get the worst of it.

In 12 years - quite possibly. William/Harry were falling out of those same nightclubs. But only Harry was labeled the drunk.

So you think we're going to hear nothing see nothing about any royal spawn for 12 years? Why would you think that?

You're mistaken. I'm saying a staged picture is not enough, was never enough. The British media didn't feed on this picture of Charles having William sent to Sandringham for a father/son photo away from boarding school. They fed on the ferocity of Charles & Diana's marital fights - while each of those people was doing 400 engagements a year separately might I add. So they got triple the gossip and numerous pictures to boot.

PP that brought up Princess Michael...I had never heard of her so I looked her up. She’s a 76 year old who married QE2’s first cousin. So that makes her what a cousin by marriage twice removed to Harry? Her father was literally a Nazi and she appears to have been born in nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia, so if anyone is looking to her as the standard bearer for race relations, they are probably looking in the wrong place. Knowing nothing about the BRF, I’d guess they pretty much ignore her.

And like clockwork William makes a statement...about football.

Its about the only thing he cares about.

The focus has always been on the interpersonal drama, not the charitable endeavors. What is it you want here? There will be more divorces, weddings, babies, deaths, etc. Life goes on, the object of the media's attention changes as time goes on.

Of all the things he chooses to opine on, I’m amazed this would be in the top 100.

But, I also openly admit to complete ignorance about the extent of the cultural impact soccer has on the country.

I have zero interest in soccer but suspect William’s interest makes him relatable to many Brits, especially younger ones who likely don’t relate to Charles. I think posting things like this is savvy on William’s part.

Normally the posh boys follow rugby and the working class boys follow football. He is trying to be "of the people"

Regarding the soccer quote - I thought all Royals had to stay out of anything political, etc.? Wouldn't Super League kind of count as political?

You might be right about all of that. But Princess Michael sure was making a point of some sort when she wore that brooch when Meghan first met the extended family. Obviously I have no way of knowing what the rest of the family did or didn’t do in response to that. And obviously I have no idea how Meghan herself felt. As a Black woman who has spent a lot of time in majority white spaces, I DO think that this welcome-to-the-family gesture is one that might be both painful and difficult to dismiss.

Beatrice and Eugenie would be happy to be working royals. ($$$) They and their parents were upset when they were told they could not be. Maybe the BRF should rethink that.

Charles hates Andrew and refuses to entertain the idea.

Even if you were racist and nearly drove his wife towards suicide?

Nice try. I’m guessing that you have no idea that Prince William is President of the Football Association?
