She was probably told but actually living the life is very different. This is not about her. This is about his choice. He plays no role in the royal family now that Will has kids. He is not in the direct line of succession. He will be like the Queens sister who has to bow to his brother's every demand and no life of his own. It makes no sense for him to stay. All his money comes from his father. His father can still choose to fund his lifestyle or cut him off. He clearly gets much less than his brother.

+1. Hopefully this will be the impetus for a change in how the Royal Family functions, to give people more options to find paths that suits them while still contributing to the common good.

It's pretty obvi from the wedding that Meghan doesn't give two shlits about family. I'm not a Meghan hater at all but I think it's really strange that the only blood relative at her wedding was her mom. Her mother has three or four siblings... she's not close to ANYONE on her mom's side of the family. That is beyond bizarre.

Maybe she wasn't allowed to invite any of them. Maybe her mom is not close to her siblings and didn't invite them. My MIL had 4 siblings. They are close to each other but treated my MIL horribly. I would not have invited them to our wedding, nor would they have come. They didn't even come to her funeral after demanding what the funeral should be.

This is the feeling I get too.

I don’t think anyone would have a problem with them completely abdicating titles and funds. The issue is trying to keep a foot in both lives
