One of my kids had a male preschool teacher and he was fantastic. Absolutely a wonderful teacher and so good with the kids - calm and attentive, lots of silly rhymes and fun routines, really creative activities. Zero red flags due to his male-ness or otherwise.

You know who else is really good with little kids? My husband. He’d be a terrible teacher, as would I, but he is everyone’s favorite uncle, the dad all the kids want to play with at the playground, and he sincerely enjoys it as well. Oh, and he’s not a pedophile.

You have to jump through more hoops and the tenant has a right of first refusal in DC if the owner decides to just sell. Instead, if they repossess for personal use and then sell sometime later (I'm not sure what the holding period must be), they don't have to worry about the hoops/right of first refusal.

Carroll files lawsuit on Monday, 11/18 over what seems like a straight forward tenant/landlord dispute and he gets arrested Tuesday, 11/19am for the charges? Wonder if it sped it up when his name popped up at dc court

He didn't file the lawsuit on 11/18 - it was filed much earlier, by the landlord. He just filed his response on 11/18.

Of the 6632 participants, 11.7 percent reported having experienced at least one form of educator sexual misconduct during grades K-12.

Similar to past research, we found that:

Most perpetrators were teachers (63.4 percent) or coaches/gym teachers (19.7 percent).
Most perpetrators were male (89.1 percent).
The majority of those who experienced educator sexual misconduct were female (72 percent), and in high school at the time, they experienced sexual misconduct.
Sexual grooming behaviors such as giving the student gifts, food, money, jewelry, and special attention were often reported.
There were low rates of reporting, and few reports resulted in the disciplinary action of the educator.

Interesting. Wanting to repossess for personal use is the only way to get your tenants out if they’ve been paying.

If we’re all irrelevant why are you responding and insulting just don’t post. I think everyone should be able to ask any and all questions of these institutions right now. I haven’t seen in the press that he had this lawsuit on Monday. The school allowed a predator around our children for a decade. I for one do not know why James requested a jury trial the day before he’s arrested for something else and I would like to know if this is connected. As someone whose children were at both schools it feels like a failure on so many levels and this board mostly has been a relief to come to and find new info and help find answers for my friends.

A jury trial is beyond the scope of simple landlord/tenant disputes. It would be interesting to see the exhibits and arguments brought by the landlord.
