Actual fact-checkers and general counsel to not put in unnecessarily incendiary claims. This isn’t like The Satanic Verses - it’s not imaginative literary fiction.
The Taliban claim may or may not be true, but including it was really damned stupid.

I don't know how much fact-checking or legal review goes into a memoir. Does random house really care? Are it's not like Archewell does.

Harry's comments in the book not only about his war "kills" but the fact he was doing drugs on/around the time he was in the military AND it seems he didn't have his book reviewed for security purposes before publishing indicates that an investigation should be done by the UK MOD. IMHO.

"Commenting on the claim, Major General Chip Chapman, a platoon commander in the Falklands conflict, told Times Radio: “For him, who wants privacy and security, he's just opened himself up to every jihadist and nutcase out there.”

Maj Gen Chapman, who also served as a former head of counter-terrorism at the Ministry of Defence, also shared that books from veterans like Prince Harry’s often exclude ‘sensitive details such as casualties in Iraq or Afghanistan’.

Most military don't talk about "kills" and it's pretty horrific he did. Its the job but its not something you brag about.

This is really disturbing. I thought they didn’t seem him privately at Phillip’s funeral but I could be wrong.

The age of sexual consent in the UK is 16 isn’t it? Harry’s horse loving cougar isn’t going to be thrown into the Tower of London!

I feel sorry for Harry. He seems unintelligent and has been taken advantage of in many ways.

This is part of them (him) getting their voice(s) back. That said, he will probably regret this in a few decades. Memoirs are best written with the wisdom of many years lived and, as someone else pointed out, when most people who might be hurt have passed. At least the Queen didn’t live to witness this.

He doesn’t say what age he lost his virginity. I don’t know what the rules in the UK are but here in the USA a big age discrepancy can be statutory rape.

+1. Calling someone who violently deflowered a teenager in a field a cougar is glamorizing predatory sexual behavior.

Vetted by whom?
.

Vetted by the MOD.

Military and former military are required to present their books prior to publishing to ensure there aren't classified or other information which can be damaging. Harry obviously didn't do this.

It's called security and review process. Both the US and UK military require it, as do most countries.

He has no filter. Nobody needs to overshare this much to have a voice. Even the most obnoxious oversharers on social media aren't this pathetic. This is something else entirely. He's deeply disturbed.

He is being taken advantage of because he is dumb, but I don't exactly feel sorry for him. Some of the excerpts being released reveal him to be the entitled, horrible POS many suspected.

The people around him are just milking him for money now that he doesn't have the royal family around him to whitewash his image and contain his excesses.

This isn't exactly good for his upper crust set either. He is exposing all of the horrible behavior they used to get up to that was covered up because of their privilege.

Some are threatening or have already started leaking bad stories about him....but they were there the whole time, enabling the little turd.

Just ugly all around. The boy clearly needs a LOT of help.

This crap even has me feeling a bit sorry for Meghan, because what was once borne by the entire Firm, she is now having to bear herself.

I hope the money and clout are worth it for her.

I feel sympathetic towards him.
