| It’s so weird. People get in lines 30 minutes before they even intend to board and are territorial about it. Some of them are obviously looking to grab overhead space for the luggage they should have checked but not everyone. It’s the damnest thing. It isn’t like you don’t have an assigned seat or like you won’t actually get on the plane. |
| Maybe some people are standing just to stand, because they know they'll be sitting for a long time. |
| It’s all about overhead storage bins. |
This is what I assume. No one wants to be gate checked. |
| Because some people feel more comfortable being in position to board. Traveling can bring on a ton of anxiety in people and it's a harmless way to manage it (if other people aren't jerks about it.) |
I mean I am looking at 15 people standing waiting to board as passengers disembark. Only half have luggage. The ones with the luggage should have checked their bags. |
Also, let me clear: if I get on a plane after you and your ridiculously large bag is over my seat, I am moving it elsewhere to make room for my bag. |
No you won’t, first come first served. |
Ok the ones with no carry ons I can’t explain but the airlines allow carry-ins-why shouldn’t people bring them if they comply with size rules? -carryon4eva |
The overhead space is for luggage. I can give you a dozen reasons not to check a bag that can be carried on, including: checking a bag is $$, airlines lose checked bags at an alarming rate, it often takes an absurdly long time for checked luggage to come out on the baggage carousel, checking a bag is harder on the luggage and reduces it's usable life... |
LOL sure you are buddy. |
And one more critical one, no waiting in line to check a bag. From the Uber straight to security. |
Lol you absolutely are not. |
That’s not how it works! Get up and stand in line like others who want to have overhead space if you’re concerned. |
| I fly a popular business route regularly and it is because most people have been sitting all day in meetings and it’s nice to stand a bit. |
