I can give you a dozen reasons not to check a bag that can be carried on, including: checking a bag is $$, airlines lose checked bags at an alarming rate, it often takes an absurdly long time for checked luggage to come out on the baggage carousel, checking a bag is harder on the luggage and reduces it's usable life...[/quote] And one more critical one, no waiting in line to check a bag.
