Parents spend quite a time researching scores and standings of local teams. Why parents don’t invest similar amount of time and research about education and schools? What are the chances of soccer players go to college based on their league vs their education? Chances are that a player gets hurt either physically or emotionally and no longer be able to play the sport but still looking to attend college.
Obsessed parents get a life. Get kids enjoy the sport in whatever league and team they belong to. Let them be kids, teens, young adults. Don’t force them to lengthy hours of driving to practice just because this league sells this and the other sells that. Focus your energy in your children education and health and well-being, and get the best from sports.
TRUTH! I come to this forum strictly for entertainment (and quite often some intel on the ever changing world of youth soccer). We all know US youth soccer needs major reform. Maybe instead of crazy ass parents ruining it for their College bound soccer players, (by the way:...college coaches look at the FAMILIES), let your kids lead the way. Don’t just pay their way.
