They each would distract the right wing media and take some of the pressure off Biden. Each would be reliable governing partners. Biden should not pick a lifelong politician in a race against Trump. Whitmer, Warren and Harris have records and inconsistencies that can be exploited. Biden-Jarrett or Biden-Rice would be winning tickets.

I really like how you think.

But Warren's confirmed.

I’ve been thinking independently about international issues for 20 years too. Pick me, pick me!

But have you used that knowledge to write bodice rippers to fund your political “career?”

Honestly, this just feels cruel to do to all of us Warren supporters.

This campaign of hers to be picked VP really bothers me. And it’s not a black thing or a woman thing because I felt the same way about Mayor Pete. Come on, you people do not have enough experience yet. And we’re going to lose BOTH of those Senate seats and either one would have been winnable for her (and perhaps no one else.) Argh.

Don't worry. It won't be Abrams. Remember that Biden is relying heavily upon Obama's skills. Obama has an amazing skill at reading people and picking people. He's got amazing political acumen. He knows the issues and he will not let Biden pick someone as raw and inexperienced as Abrams. Obama knows what is needed, someone young enough to offset Biden's age, but also with the experience necessary that the public, including the public that only follows politics superficially will trust to be able to take over. There are many people who question Biden's stamina and fear his susceptibility to Covid-19 and who want some reassurance that the VP is also qualified to take office should she be needed. Abrams claim to fame is that she was almost elected governor. She has no federal government experience and no executive experience. There is not enough public confidence in her ability. Frankly, we have just spent the last 3 years experiencing what someone with no federal experience and no governmental executive experience does to the federal government. If Biden is going to win, he has to show that his ticket will be exactly the opposite of what has caused so many federal problems (at least in the mind of people who will be voting for him). Although Biden says he would consider her, frankly, I would be very, very surprised if she was seriously being considered. I think it is all lip service to show that he is considering a black woman for the position.

I think that the top choices are Klobuchar, Harris, Whitmer and Lujan Grisham (she's borderline A-group/B-group). I think the second tier includes Warren, Duckworth and Baldwin. Others will only move into contention if there is a problem with any of the A-group or B-group.

Hood Yiu are right, but would feel better if it were Klobuchar.

Klobuchar polls terribly with AAs, could be a risky choice. With non-AA voters is Tim Kaine 2.0.

She's right.

Why? Blacks are a shrinking minority who peaked 20 years ago.
A Latina or Asian woman can being bring more votes.

Indeed.

Especially as many Latinos and Asians hate Bidenbfor his three million deportations.

Yup, Benghazi rules her out.

How so? The Secretary of State at the time of Benghazi later won the nomination in 2016 as well as the popular vote. Rice used the best talking points available to her at the time and went on television when no one else would. In contrast, Secretary Clinton was nowhere to be found and dismissive of the entire tragedy when testifying before Congress (e.g., "what difference does it make?"). Rice conveyed the administration's position with much less information available to her and with the appropriate seriousness. If Clinton can be the presidential nominee, why can't Rice be the VP pick?

Why shouldn't Susan Rice deserve the most serious consideration to be Vice President? She has significant experience in two administrations and has done more than just think about international issues for decades. Susan Rice has been in the arena and in the room when tough decisions are made. She has earned another opportunity.

Many of the picks on the short lists have their own political agendas and have been critical of Biden in the past and even to his face. He needs someone who is more loyal and could step in to be president. Susan Rice has been in the Situation Room, and not just on CNN.

I’ll laugh if it’s Abrahams or Harris. No one will vote for those clowns.

Black people will NOT vote for Kamala Harris. We didn’t like her when she bragged about locking up black people for weed and went on Breakfast club and bragged that she was a pothead. Biden can kiss his campaign goodbye if he picks her.

LOL! The very fact that she repeated the talking points over and over, denies your facts of support for her. Anyone with a lick of common sense knew that it was not the video--and that included the IC. She took talking points from that fiction writing major Ben Rhodes--likely with the help of John Brennan (who, by the way, was in charge of the plans to keep Americans around the world safe on 9/11/12--he didn't do so well.)

You're indeed full of actual bull.

Cop Harris polled very poorly among blacks, and hispanics, and whites.
