Fox Mill families have been fighting to get out of South Lakes for years. They have a lot in common with the Rooted in Oakton mommas, if you know what I'm saying. |
Nope. It shouldn't be about the parents of current upper grade kids. It should be about the community as a whole, including kids who haven't even been in elementary school yet. You know the advocates are parents of 7th and 8th graders, not of younger children. On both sides. |
OH SHUT UP. |
The loudest voices are not the majority, sweetie. Did you take math? |
*some families* from Fox Mill. Not everyone. |
| I've talked to a number of Fox Mill families of young children who specifically bought in the neighborhood because of the IB program at South Lakes. Most of them are international families, but they are still homeowners and parents and have just as much of a voice as you do. |
Sock puppeting!!!!! |
It's not true, it's just one person on this board pretending to be several. She has hopes and dreams and they are not going to be realized. Floris, Coats, and McNair families need a local high school. |
+1 yes. But seriously, who wouldn’t want to get out of South Lakes?! |
I don't actually think it's that bad. Take a look at its stats. Kids that go to South Lakes do well! |
But the bigger decreases in enrollment would come from Westfield and South Lakes with a permanent opt-in model. It would do very little for Centreville, Chantilly, or Oakton. The School Board already directed Reid to open Skyview as a traditional high school. Presumably the costs to get to a 2000-student school would still be well below the cost of building a new school, and it’s a good location. Stop trying to make fetch happen. |
hey there sweetums what data do you have? i've taken modeling analysis and uncertainty, engineering stats and build big data models in my day job. only data I can pull offhand is from the RIO site which for all its faults if far more than your... mere assertion without any evidence. sounds like you're just one spectacular speculating speculator who tries to bluff their position. |
But Grant Hill went there like 30-40 years ago! |
Oh yes lol. |
+1 I want to stay in Hughes/South Lakes and I don’t live in Fox Mill. Had one kid graduate from there already and it really was fine. |
