It already passed this is not accurate. In fact I am all for a law that avoids shutdowns for both sides of the have nothing to do with passing a clean budget. This time democrats throw in random stuff to shutdown next time republicans will throw in 10 billion to the military budget. It's really dumb it's not getting anywhere and the public can see it. Doesn't make sense, I don't want to pay the power bill because I am not happy with the water bill |
Corporations aren't for or against Trump. They're just willing to bend the knee to the power du jour. The Dems need to remember everything that's happened because what goes around needs to come around otherwise we have a free rider problem 2028-2030 needs to be a Dem retribution so that in 2030-2032 we can finally fix things. |
The place to extend subsidies would be in the regular appropriations bills. The House has passed nine of them out of committee. What has the Senate done? I know it has been 15 years since they have passed regular budget bills, but they should still be able to do that. |
If it already passed we wouldn't have a shutdown. This is like the part of the social network where he says, if you guys were the inventors of facebook, you'd have invented facebook. |
Who knows what insane story PP is getting from newsmax. |
Why would the proper place for a tax subsidy be in an appropriations bill? There usually are not tax provisions in appropriations bill so that would be out of the ordinary. In any case, there's no reason a tax subsidy cannot be in a CR. It's been done before and can be done again. |
Unless a bill can pass both House AND Senate, the fact that it passed in one chamber is absolutely meaningless. |
And this was why there were no shutdowns while Biden was president. Whether there was a Dem or GOP majority in the House, his budget bills were bipartisan and sailed through the Senate. Say what you will about Biden, he clearly understood the process of governing. The guy we have now doesn't understand anything. |
| Trump is indicating a TACO here. I guess as long as the Dems let him claim credit... |
He’s definitely going to TACO. This is going very badly for him. Unfortunately for dems, they will never get any credit for getting these subsidies extended |
| I am so, so tired of the strategic stupidity of the Democrats. Why use all their political capital on an invisible win? Why not insist on reopening USAID? Or taking ICE off the streets? Stupid!!! |
I'm guessing their target audience is the small town voter in a swing state, who doesn't care about USAID and maybe even supports ICE...but who definitely cares about the cost of health insurance. |
DP. I’m guessing this is the case too, but I’m really disheartened and disgusted by what happened with USAID, and ultimately how little resistance the Dems put up to what was an illegal dismantling of an agency. |
