Yup, not projecting strength here trying to hide everything.

+100% on this my friend! You hit the nail on the head. Mys is weak and didn’t get any good coaches on board. They can hide their information and incompetence for a while but everyone will soon see how weak they are.

Yup, they are going to tank quickly. Huge mistake selling out their girls program for MLS Next Jr.

Well, this is a take. They traded their girls teams from RL/NCSL to GA/Aspire. In doing so, they have attracted a bunch of new, better players into the program (based on what I saw and heard at ID sessions this week) by upgrading from RL to GA. Not sure how that is "selling out". Sounds like the start of a rebuild to me.

Some would contend, if it were that important to an interested party they would have made an effort to attend the town hall instead of asking here.

Okay nerd. Thanks for the pompous lecture.

50 percent of success is showing up...

Sounds like the Mys parents were told not to share any information on the blogs because they don’t have any coaches slated. So we get McNerd here posting stupid comments about showing up.

DP- you're here demanding info and you couldn't bother to show up. Not doing the homework for you.

No one is demanding - perhaps people had other events/work/travel and could not make it. This is youth soccer - not all that important. If your kid is good enough they'll make the team, but that also won't change the skill level of your kid.

Sure. Turn it around on people's kids because you didnt go. That is really low class.

You weren't traveling anywhere and we are ALL busy. We make it work as best we can. If it isn't that important to you, you can do without the information you seek, can't you?

"See here, Olivia/Jackson, this is youth soccer. It isn't important to mommy and daddy."

HA! I'm not even the one that originally asked - just pointing out how ridiculous it is to go after someone for asking a simple question. Perhaps in 10 years you'll realize that virtually none of these kids will have a career in soccer and all of this craziness is for nothing.

Wrong! Do not conflate GA to RL. MYs sold out their girls future ECNL National hopes for GA.

Exactly. Top players don’t want to go to GA. They would take an RL position with a pathway to ECNL over GA

Stop lying there is no "Top Player" taking a spot in RL over the national platform of GA. GA is not currently the national platform that ECNL is, but it's most definitely a better platform than RL.

GA Director drove from NC to give an overview of GA and what GA is trying to be; including emphasizing that former GA players have gone on to USWNT success. MLS Next TD gave an overview of MLS Next 2 and what they're trying to be. There were questions about coaches, roster sizes, future plans. I'm not unbiased, but I thought JH and MYS leadership did a good job explaining their decisions. There were statements along the lines of 'now that we're not getting bullied by ECNL, we now control our destiny and will no longer be forced into dramatic changes every year.' That is music to my ears as there's no way the Union settles down and avoids changes over the next few years.

Thanks for the rundown. Wasn't there so appreciate this, and haven't been to training to gossip with the other rents yet. However, the bolded part that's what is really going on here. Brave 2.0 can add as many new partners as it wants but it will still play poor brand of football that will not help players in the long run. Arlington deserves our attention FVU people. If they can build one great team why not 1 or 2 more.

McLean didn't have ECNL NL. They were forced into an alliance (FVU) where they had very little control over ECNL NL. The best ulittles and preECNL MYS players can still go to Arlington or FVU when they get of age. And if they can't make those teams, or don't want to, MYS gives them the better option of GA rather RL.

No dog in this specific fight, and it pains me a bit to come to the defense of MYS, but think they've made the right long-term move here.

The whole Union thing is a dumpster fire. Poor kids.

FVU = HOT GARBAGE FIRE

rather "than" RL

Thank you to PP who summarized last night's MYS meeting.

This board is more of a fight between MYS and FVU. In other words MYS and Brave. Guys chill. It is just kids soccer. There more important things in life to focus on and let the kids enjoy their sports. Jeez!

I agree - GA is a step up from RL - especially with how watered-down RL is becoming. And it is very rare for an RL player to be "promoted" to ENCL within the same club. A player with ECNL hopes would be better served playing for a GA team and then trying out for an ECNL team. Once you accept a spot on an RL team, the club has almost no reason to offer you a spot on the NL team. That said, it is only helpful if the GA team is actually good.

Arlington didn't "build" the 2011s. They got lucky with a strong core group and recruited the top SYC and MYS players a couple years ago. If you have a 2011 player who can make that team, congrats and by all means, make the move. But I wouldn't go to Arlington in any other age group and expect the same result.
