Single Issue Voter: Controlling The Borders

First you "couldn't" stop them at the border. Then you "had" to take seriously their asylum claims. Now you "have" to pay for their health care.
-----------------------------------

The NY State Senate has approved legislation to provide low-cost health care to migrants, after the federal government agreed to provide the cash.

Again democrats give US workers the middle finger

Why do I bother doing the right thing in this city ? Paying taxes, following rules etc... I am self employed and can't afford healthcare. The hospital cancelled an operation on me in 2019 because the so called affordable health care insurance I bought only covered 20%. I couldn't pay for the rest out of pocket.

I'm going to Mexico and walking to NYC. Maybe I'll get some affordable or free insurance

I’m wondering if anyone ever cleaned up the horrible garbage that was filmed all along (and in) the Rio Grande where migrants cross. That was appalling. Talk about an environmental crisis.

No the Texans are still dumping their garbage all over the place.

Good for him. That really is refreshing to hear a Democrat state, "this is not good for our country and it is unsustainable."

It's still just so unbelievable to me that you can walk into a country illegally, be briefly detained, and then just released to do whatever... for years. It's just crazy.

Yep. No other country in the world allows this nonsense.

To be precise, no other developed country in the world allows this nonsense.

Haiti or El Salvador or Somalia I'm pretty sure don't care. I guess this is the model some US politicos have in mind.

Germany and much of Europe did much the same, allowing in Syrian refugees, most of whom were not refugees and not Syrian. Merkel invited them in.

Except they're not Texans who are doing this - but you know that.

Since 2012, [Japan] has expanded its labor force by around 4.2 million even as its population has fallen by more than three million. As the U.S. struggles to meet its workforce needs, policy makers in Washington would do well to take a page out of Tokyo’s book.

U.S. business must first accept that a real labor shortage exists and, like the Japanese, lead the way in incorporating talent that has long been neglected. In the U.S., that means finding ways to employ [American] workers who lack traditional credentials or who have been marginalized by such factors as poverty, substance abuse and criminal records.

Meanwhile, the U.S. government allows companies to replace the many sidelined, disadvantaged, older, isolated, or sicker Americans with millions of migrants who have been extracted from poor countries during the last 30 months.

“In Japan, the [labor] market is working as it’s supposed to work,” said Mark Krikorian, the director of the Center for Immigration Studies. He continued:

[Japan’s] tight labor market is prompting [business] efforts to draw more people into the world of work — which is what we should want. But what we’re doing [in the United States] is ignoring the social forces that are prompting Americans to drop out of the labor market and are just importing [foreign] replacements.

The replacement of Americans in their own society is the predictable result of establishment policy to make rich people richer

Where are these unemployed "american" (read: White) workers? Last I saw, White and US Employment in general, were at all time highs. The problem is, we don't have enough people in the country to do the jobs that are available. That is why wages have been skyrocketing. And the jobs that are availabe are the ones that "Americans" don't want to do, pick in fields, work in slaughter houses, etc. That is why the GOP is loosening child labor laws, so poor children of color, mostly latinos. can be exploited.

Other than right to life/abortion issue is anyone else approaching the next presidential election as a single issue voter ?

If other than right to life/abortion, what is that issue ?

Christie speaks the truth here. The GOP controlled the whole government for 2 years and did absolutely NOTHING on this issue.

Whatever your single issue is, I'm sure the RNC and DNC are planning their strategy to dupe you into thinking their candidate will be efficient and effective in resolving the issue. Bills do get passed and tax dollars are spent in bundles of trillions but most issues are converted to cans and kicked down the road because most of our lingering issues require decades of time and serious commitment in order for the root of the problem to truly be fixed. The RNC and DNC aren't going to put their money and support behind political candidates trying to sell policies that address the roots of problems due to the time it takes for policy actions to render positive results that can be felt and seen by the average Joe. Their efforts are focused towards vote buying strategies ahead of the next mid-term or general election. It isn't politically advantageous to spend time and money on an issue that requires a 30 year fix. Preservation of power at it's finest. Immigration/border control, 2nd amendment revision/gun legislation, poverty.......................
policies that will truly lead to long term solutions or improvements to these issues aren't being put on the table by any viable mainstream candidates. It is what it is. This is life under the rule of the RNC and DNC.

This guy was caught as a result of the TX governor's Operation Lone Star.
CBP is too busy processing migrants and are unable to patrol the border effectively.

Oh, too funny. This is the order Trump had in place, that Joe then ended immediately on his first day in office. Remember that? It's only because Joe's border has been so horrendous that he was forced to reinstate it. But nice try, trying to give credit to Joe!
