I want him to get Fs at this point because I don’t want him to be hopelessly lost next year. Somehow he has all Cs and Ds. I have told his teachers repeatedly to please give him the grade he deserves and they keep cutting out homework he never did, telling him he can skip quizzes, etc. It’s crazy, I don’t get it. They aren’t helping him by doing this. I can only assume they are under tremendous pressure to pass everyone.
They are, particularly for sped students. But I am with you. I have to honestly document that despite massive amounts of help, communication, intervention, support and accommodation they still cannot pass. It’s the only way I can ensure the system provides the support they will need. If I lie and show passing grades and progress toward goals, I risk them losing services or having accommodations removed which does NOT help them.
