Something similar happened to me in Bethesda (I'm a woman). I look like a Latina, but I'm not. I was in a crowded garage downtown Bethesda and pulled into a parking space. A man who thought the same space belonged to him although there was no physical way for him to pull into that space started SCREAMING at me, cursing, gesturing, signaling that he is going to get out of his car to attack me physically. Another man spetted in and told the guy to get in the car and leave. It was immediately done.

Two things, piss me off about both incidents. The racial component, but also men attacking women thinking that we will just back down. However, these p8ssies back down really fast when a man steps in because, as predicted, they are not brave or dangerous at all.

What should the response be? Public outcry/shaming? Him losing his job? Criminal charges? Something else.

All of the above. Laws need to be updated to include punishment for this kind of behavior.

But just like the bystanders did here, film it and publically shame these racist morons.

Thankfully we have the 1st amendment to override such laws, if they were to be passed. The government doesn't need to be policing speech, no matter how idiotic it is.

Really? The first amendment covers hate speech and threats of violence? I wasn't aware.

Yikes. If it doesn’t cover “hate speech” why even have it? It’s not there to protect innocuous speech. Threats of violence are different of course, but I didn’t see such a threat here. I saw a loony, over-stressed, wack job yelling offensively at some lady, but no actual threat of violence. And I didn’t see what came before.

The first amendment protects political speech. Dissent against the tyrannical government. It was never envisioned to cover hateful incidents like this. You are clearly ignorant about what you think protects you.

Damn! Until this very monument, I was of firm belief that all Democrats did the right thing all the time. Also, their farts smell like Channel.

"hate speech" is protested by the 1st amendment, and that has been upheld by the Supreme Court numerous times:

Common limitations or boundaries to freedom of speech relate to libel, slander, obscenity, pornography, sedition, incitement, fighting words, classified information, copyright violation, trade secrets, food labeling, non-disclosure agreements, the right to privacy, dignity, the right to be forgotten, public security, and perjury.

I don't think what he said qualifies as either of those.

It most certainly did!!!

Nope. He is a Republican. Trump supporter.

DP. In Bethesda? Based on demographics alone, the odds are against you.

The woman in central park is a democrat and in all likelihood, so is this guy.

Nope. Racist White man or woman - Republican, Trump supporter.

Educated White bystander who stepped in - Democrat.

Sorry, but you guys have sided with evil. You are Nazi party members. RIP to you but you are not Democrats.

I bet the kid walked to close to him and neither were wearing masks and it caused this guy to loose it.

+1 Deeply strange. Do you think his mom tried to intervene when he said hateful things as a kid?

Didn't he call that lady's son the "n" word and then tell her that he was going to nuke Japan or some such nonsense all while reminding her that she is not his mother, go get a bagel!

Maybe, perhaps, the guy is as nuts as he sounds? A few screws loose if ya know what I mean.
