Virginia is investing $3.7 billion to expand its passenger rail infrastructure. And, yes, Maryland is finally building the Purple Line...23 years after it was first proposed...

I remember reading about this in the WaPo. It's been 4 or 5 years ago, but the OP got it right, as far as I remember.

Maybe you remember reading about the murder of 23-year-old Laura Houghteling in 1992 - because that's what came up when I googled Bethesda murder homeless. However, other than that it involves Bethesda, a murderer who was homeless, and a murder victim who was a woman, it's totally different from the tale related by the top PP.

This was terrifying when it happened. I was in high school. What’s similar is that Laura’s mom had hired homeless and mentally ill Hadden to do work around their house. She thought she was doing something kind, but he ended up getting his daughter slaughtered. He was also found to have murdered another missing girl from a high profile case.
