Hardly. Can’t hold a candle to Fairfax or Loudoun. This is why they won’t let a bridge be built. Everyone would go work in nova.

Do you see anyone tries to compare or measure up to Fairfax or Loudoun ? Nope.
It's all about MoCo
.

Yep. Look at all the threads about MoCo.
Fairfax, Loudoun and the rest of NoVa are just wannabes.

Lol. Has it ever occurred to you that there’s no reason to try and compare or measure up to Fairfax or Loudoun because both jurisdictions are already considered to be highly desirable?

What I see on this thread is a lot of empty bragging about MoCo. It gives me the image of a bunch of middle-aged burnouts thinking that they’re still living their glory days as star high school football players. This is EXACTLY the kind of attitude that will dampen the county’s future.

Huh? The highlighted makes no sense.
When one wants to be the best, one tries to compare to, measure up to and beat the best...to be the best.
You don’t try to measure up to mediocrity . If these jurisdictions were the best, others would try to measure up to them.

Also, did you happen to check the title of this thread? "What comes to mind when you think of Montgomery County ". People say what they think and feel.
Some brag about good things in MoCo, while others, haters and wannabes like yourself, throw shades and hatreds( when you all don't even live in the county ).
Over 80% of the people living in the county think it's a great place to live, so it's not empty bragging. IT IS fact and reality.

Please dont quote stats like this as facts. Hey do you like where you live? No, I hate it. Then why do you live there? Cuz I am a dumb ass. In others words the question is inherently attuned to giving a biased response. Now, is MoCo lovely? Yes it seems like it is as are Fairfax and Loudoun and Arlington and most places around DC except for SE and NE DC and some portions of PG county. I.e. the poorer areas. The question was, “what comes to mind when you think of MoCo?” That question itself is geared towards a wide range of response from lovers and haters alike and those that live there and those that don’t. So now that we know that you live in MoCo I believe what comes to mind when I think of MoCo are people that are defensive and educated but not necessarily wise.

Too clueless

Keep huffing and puffing

So, I tell you how surveys like these are inherently biased and you proceeed to cite a survey. Me thinks you’re the gullible and clueless one. Again, educated but unwise.

Because YOU told me, so it must be true.

Keep huffing and puffing

I only see one person huffing and puffing on this thread...

I agree with the PP that the county has its head stuck in the sand. The same thing can be said of the entire state of Maryland, unfortunately.

Also, the sense of superiority in MoCo (i.e. "we're better than everywhere/everyone else") doesn't ring true anymore. It might have in the past, but it's outdated today, and it's impeding the ability of the county and state to wake up to reality.

We spend so much time making fun of Virginia, but Virginia is leaving Maryland in the dust. Petty name calling won't change that.

Yes, it's embarrassing. Virginia's governor is forward-thinking and investing in rail, while Maryland's governor is stuck in 1950s highway-building (that benefits his real-estate holdings.)

Are you kidding? Once I cross the bridge into Virginia, the traffic is 100% better than in Maryland. Why? Because VA has been building more lanes. Thank God for Hogan. I hope he gets as much pushed through as he can before his term is up!

What time do you cross the bridge? Because it’s a nightmare in evening rush hour.
