And we know you're going to say you guys don't have one - nobody readily admits to having an ED.

Such sad examples for those that have children.

As a mother who grew up in a shadow of one with a severe eating disorder, I feel SO BAD for these kids. THEY KNOW, and you're disordered.

So you still see the world through your childhood trauma. It is a severely distorted view but you will never realize or admit it. Most people who can control their appetite are not disordered.

In honor of this thread, I threw in a second 36 hour fast this week. Feeling amazing!

Holiday feasts start this weekend! Cheers!

you do you OP. If it works for you, and you're making sure to eat a normal diet on the other days - go for it.

To clarify, I'm not Op although I have posted a couple of times on this thread. I agree that I do what works for me.

OP here ... 8 pages and I haven't been back til now ... I totally forgot I'd posted this.

Why I liked it:
No stomach aches.
No cooking.
Brain resest, regardless of me typing 48 & 46 both ... let's split the difference and blow your little mind and call it 47 hours. It doesn't actually matter.
No I didn't faint. No, I didn't get dizzy.

Yes, I had tea and water & on the 2nd day broth. I was feeling like I was off and the broth fixed that right away. I do add a splash of cream/full fat milk to my tea when fasting. Just a smidge.

I do it for the autophagy. I do it because we have cancer in our family. I do it -- yes -- to feel in control once in a while. I do it to help maintain my weight. I don't skip meals when I'm with my children, because yes, I DO want them to see healthy women eat and they don't yet understand the aging body and the fact that metabolisms will tank.

Catholics consider not eating meat fasting ... so look, we can all define it however we want. My fasts include tea/coffee (with milk) and the broth, and water.

I'm not anorexic, I am a normal weight. I don't have super powers, but if I could choose one it would be the ability to teleport anywhere.

Haven't done it again yet, but I will in the future.

I include bone broth with my fasts, too, Op.

I think a lot of those who are really upset about this post are those same people that can't seem to control their own eating, so this makes them really uncomfortable because it forces them to "look in the mirror" so to speak and be honest with themselves that they have zero self control.

Now I get why so many people in this area are mean. They're hangry.

Control their appetite? What are you talking about? The whole reason people commit to these insane eating window ideas is because they can’t control themselves. Most of us just eat normally.
- PP, and I also appreciate your insulting my dead mom

If you can control your eating you don’t need these silly rules. Duh?

Or it’s normal for you because you don’t know normal.

Exactly.

And many of us *have* been through eating disorders or disordered eating, so we know it when we see it. Now on the other side, it's clear as day, as is the damage it does.

Fasting is not 'silly rules'. Fasting is good for humans. Maybe read some research before voicing your uneducated opinion, duh?..

My boss (a man) fasts for 7 days at a time. He is obsessed with it and is thinking of trying 10. Seems crazy to me but I just politely listen when he talks about it because I have no choice.
