How much money do you give to your church?

It’s nowhere near 10 percent of my income, but it’s what I can afford right now.

+1.

Catholic with one working parent and one stay at home parent. Three little kids (two in Catholic schools, K and part-time pre-K). We aren't strapped and could scrape together more, but we are also dealing with needing to fund 401(k), mortgage, 529s, etc. Plus I am supporting the schools and raising my kids catholic and tying to be a good role model. Also I think the church has been working on reforms and that is good but still not yet ready to trust making large donations, so if I was in a position to cut large checks I might research a specific cause more thoroughly, and I have no time for that.

Right now we are getting by trying to boost our savings and get our kids out of diapers and into school, and then we will take it from there.

For 2019 we pledged $2900 and will meet that amount. The church has asked us to consider a 5% increase this year, and are likely to do so. Our HHI is about $200K, so we're only giving about 1.5% of our income.
