I got that she'll never be accepted by them. They still make fun of Kate for her middle class 'doors to manual' background. The older aristos made fun of the Queen's mother for being born to a minor noble set. That's just how they are.

But what's that got to do with Meghan acquiescing? Your language seems to imply that she needs to change somehow in order to fit in. With who and how so?

I’d like to counter this. Kate (and likely her family) quite pointedly CHOSE this life, early on. She had more than 20 years in this game. She took a year off from working before their wedding to learn the game. She has less flexibility, I think, in what is tolerated from her, as she will be the queen consort one day.

I’m also not getting into the “publicly funded” issue, as Kate and Wills are quite heavily funded, but no one seems to worry that Kate has yet to reallynpull her weight in that regard. Meghan doing public appearances a few weeks PP.

By acquiesce, I meant do something 2-3x a year that conforms to how things have been done in the past. Skip the photos of the hospital steps fine. But issue a real photo. Either with the photo call, allow a full shot, or with the IG posts. Just now and then.

All these games do is encourage the crazy.

She DID issue photos. Two days after the birth. With herself, Archie and Prince Harry. The same positioning relatively of Prince George when he was born. So what exactly are you talking about?

You could actually see more of Archie's face then you could of George.

She curtsies to the Queen, she wears stockings, she dresses appropriately (everything she's worn - the Queen or the Queen's DILs have as well), she represents Britain diplomatically on multiple occasions, she accepts the jewels/homes given to her, she's provided an heir to her husband, and she's worked hard on the initiatives given to her by the BRF.

Like what's wrong with what she's done to integrate herself into British society so far?

She will *never* be accepted by the aristo set. Ever. As Americans, we cannot even really conceive of it, but the class system and hierarchy of bloodlines is impenetrable. I think Harry loves this and is happy to exit stage left. He will be able to do so much more easily when they are self funded.

I got that she'll never be accepted by them. They still make fun of Kate for her middle class 'doors to manual' background. The older aristos made fun of the Queen's mother for being born to a minor noble set. That's just how they are.

But what's that got to do with Meghan acquiescing? Your language seems to imply that she needs to change somehow in order to fit in. With who and how so?

By acquiesce, I meant do something 2-3x a year that conforms to how things have been done in the past. Skip the photos of the hospital steps fine. But issue a real photo. Either with the photo call, allow a full shot, or with the IG posts. Just now and then.

All these games do is encourage the crazy.

She DID issue photos. Two days after the birth. With herself, Archie and Prince Harry. The same positioning relatively of Prince George when he was born. So what exactly are you talking about?

You could actually see more of Archie's face then you could of George.

Then why all of the complaints?

You'd need to understand the dynamics of paparazzi and newspaper cycles.

Essentially the complaints come down to money. Every official photographer that got a spot in front of the Lindo Wing for the birth of the three Cambridge children essentially made at least $5,000 that day.

There were hundreds of cameras and video-cameras, every photo and video taken was then liscensed world-wide for use in global and national newspapers. EVERY paper across the U.S., U.K., Europe, the Commonwealth of dozens of countries, etc was running those photos and each picture used had to be paid for.

The standard cost for an unrestricted liscense is $600 for a photo and it goes up depending on the number of viewers estimated to see it.

Essentially the reporters and photographers were bitching because they were shut out of essentially their Christmas bonus which comes around every 2-3 years when the babies arrive.

They still got photos through the single Press Association photographer, but they didn't want just the image, they wanted money.

That article comes at it from another angle. The only point I was hoping to make is that she might want to throw the public a bone now and then.

Kate has studied extensively bc she had no choice, she has had to work endlessly at learning all of the aristo knowledge and history. She has no choice, and this is as much her work as the public appearances. She has done a great job, weathered insane mockery and criticism, again not published, and still has a lot to do.

Comparatively speaking Meghan and Harry do have a choice and are pretty clear about that. They all know Meghan will never be accepted by the upper echelons, so why even bother? It makes sense.

The turnover of long term staff is problematic, bc they are losing the advice that keeps things roughly contained. Worse yet, H & M are publicly publicly funded, so they risk a ton by playing too many games with the British public, she needs to acquiesce a little.

I’d like to counter this. Kate (and likely her family) quite pointedly CHOSE this life, early on. She had more than 20 years in this game. She took a year off from working before their wedding to learn the game. She has less flexibility, I think, in what is tolerated from her, as she will be the queen consort one day.

I’m also not getting into the “publicly funded” issue, as Kate and Wills are quite heavily funded, but no one seems to worry that Kate has yet to reallynpull her weight in that regard. Meghan doing public appearances a few weeks PP.

There's also the fact that in addition to public funds, William's foundation is underwater by the tune of 1.5 million pounds. Guess who's going to bail him out?

Why people think this man is at all prepared to be King when he can't even steward a bunch of charities is beyond me.

As the future King, he doesn't need bailing out.

Someone will just be fired over that, and they mentioned there would be staff reductions. This is a pointless discussion. Do you think he is a hedge fund manager responsible for the budget of his charity??!! Lol

Charles, the actual Prince of Wales, has been in charge of the budget of his trust for over 40 years. So yes, I do. It's called being a responsible steward.

And someone will bail William out because he uses that money to do his annual events, press calls for charities, and galas. If he was PoW already he could just take from the Duchy of Cornwall funds but since Wills still gets an allowance from daddy, it'll be Charles.
