"No matter how much you may dislike or disagree with Trump, the warped practice of casually comparing him and other U.S. officials to the ruthless, merciless ghouls who executed 6 million souls and tortured and persecuted countless more simply for being Jewish or something else they despised is a disgrace and demonstrates massive, willful historical ignorance." |
You both are calling Holocaust survivors mentally ill and deranged for making these comparisons. What is wrong with you? |
Well, Hitler would have already found out who OP is and had him shot. My guess is OP has not been executed, nor will he be. So there is that.
The fact you all feel safe even talking about this pretty much disproves the premise. |
This has really stuck a nerve with Trumpkins. |
So glad people refuse to see things pointed out by actual survivors of the Nazi atrocities.
Carry on - nothing to see here. Don’t say you weren’t warned... |
No, it "stuck a nerve" of any intelligent person regardless of their political stance. |
This. And I would add, any intelligent person with a firm grasp of history and sense of proportionality. |
Agree. My (step) grandfather survived in the woods of Poland for two years, hiding from the Nazis, and was physically disabled for the remainder of his life as a result of living on insects. rodents, and whatever else he could find. (Amazing he lived, really.) He would be rolling over in his grave to hear this comparison made. Absolutely nauseating. |
Cool story. |
So. Triggered. |
If we're talking about intelligence then you both have nothing to worry about. |
I guess we’re just going to ignore the listing of articles written by people who lived through the rise and rule of the third Reich and keep telling anyone pointing out striking similarities as lacking intelligence.
Okie dokie then. I guess those who actually lived that shit and are trying to warn us are morons. |
I know it’s very difficult for a lot of Trump supporters on here to try to think outside the box and consider some of the posts comparing trump to Hitler. However, please try and do so. Consider trumps nationalist rhetoric and how similar it was to Hitler’s rhetoric while he was consolidating power in Germany. Consider trumps repeated denigration of Mexicans. Consider how he panders to a radical, and yes, racist part of his base as evidenced by saying “there are very fine people on both sides.” I’m specifically said that because he knows his supporters who like Confederate statues and yes some of them are white nationalists, would appreciate that type of message. That message wasn’t just in support of people who want to keep their southern heritage alive by keeping the statues in place, but it was also a shout out, a dog whistle to people who hold these racial notions of white purity and things of that nature. Stop trying to tell us that we can’t make comparisons to Hitler. The comparisons are there. The demographics of this country are shifting and a lot of older white people are scared of that. The browning of America is very alarming to a lot of people. Additionally a lot of people don’t like change, whether it’s automation taking their jobs, or solar wind or other technology overtaking Cole, trump panders to these people but does so in a way that is very similar to Hitler. He holds the same types of rallies to rile people up. He only focuses on his supporters he is not a uniter. He’s a divider just like Hitler. Can you see that? |
