Nope, it’s true. |
These results make no sense. Was there a really high number of in-pool scores this year? Still, I know they should have space for everyone that qualifies. |
Idk if I think some of them are trolls trying to stir the pot or what. |
I'm not surprised at all by this. The AART said that every year, of the 30+ packets sent to committee, there are a handful of kids that the school absolutely thought would get into AAP who were rejected, and another 2 or 3 kids that they thought had nothing at all indicating AAP admission who somehow got in. The process isn't as consistent as people would like to think. |

I am surprised my daughter was not let in on my referral.
She barely missed the cutoff for the in CogAT test (within 1-2 points). What can I do to generate new data at this point? |
Have her take the WISC. |

Not in!
I don't have the scores on me, but was in pool. This child's scores are higher than my child who got in on the first round last year. This child had been referred by both K and 1st grade teachers for advanced services. This child's current teacher told me she should be in AAP next year, so the GBRS should be good. I will request a copy of the packet on Monday. |
Advanced math seems to be what this child needs form the test scores, not really level iv. |
NNAT - 87 percentile. Don't have actual scores handy
Cogat - 127/147/133 composite 144 Zip code - 22033 In pool - yes Parent referral - No, not work samples submitted Decision - NOT IN Should I appeal? DS is 99 percentile for luck and grade in Cogat. |
I understand based on scores that’s what it seems but knowing him I am disappointed that he didn’t get through. He has all the gifted behaviors you see when you google traits of gifted behavior kids. They just don’t show in his scores. He loves learning, he is very curious, witty etc.. |

I guess he got pretty good GBRS since the teacher impression on him is very positive as I felt during the parent conference on Oct last year. He never pull out for the Level 2 (or I don’t know if the school has Level 2) |
Same, but our school doesn't offer any advanced services. My in-pool-but-rejected child scored significantly higher on all the tests than his older sister, who was in first round after being referred two years ago. This whole thread is bizarre. |
