Rumors that Will cheated on Kate

That's a strange way to look at it. Kate conducts herself with such grace that she wouldn't fuss publicly if William cheated.

That said, it seems like something else is going on here. Previously, William has been discreet.

I don't think we'll ever really know one way or the other.

But I think she's attractive. She also has a very high status in the aristocracy, she's fabulously wealthy, lives in an actual palace, and has no external restraints on her behavior or constant scrutiny from the press like Kate does. I don't think it's far fetched that William would cheat on Kate with her. Kate is prettier imo but they also look like they could be sisters.

Also I'd MUCH rather be in her position than Kate's, if I got to choose between them.

Why are people insisting William wouldn't cheat? That seems unlikely. He has been vacationing without her for years. He has nothing to lose. He is still the king to be. He won't lose his place. Kate is unlikely to divorce.

I don't know, Wikipedia says the Marquess, who never went to college and is a "film maker," is worth about $60m which includes the two giant estates. That doesn't sound like enough to maintain two big houses like that. Most of the house is open to the public and they sold most of the art in the 90's to try to pay for it. He had never married and when she was 25, they were engaged and married the next day when she was several months pregnant.

They are talking about all their breakups before marriage.

They were on/off for a # of years because he couldn’t commit and wanted to keep his options open/see what else was out there.

On the one hand, you could write this off as youthful exuberance and I think a lot of people do, especially those who want to buy into the fairy tale of a prince falling in love with a commoner and making her a princess. Yes that technically happened but there were a LOT of bumps along the way.

OTOH, you could see it as a troubling sign of selfishness/entitlement on William’s part. It’s pretty gross to ask or expect someone to wait around for years while you see if there is someone better for you out there. Kate took him back each time though. No one knows why. Maybe it’s because she really loved him, maybe it’s because she wants to be queen someday. I doubt we’ll ever know.

Regardless of this rocky history, there hasn’t been any cheating allegations after their marriage. Until now I guess.

If the houses are part of the National Trust (not sure if hey are but I’m guessing they are), then they are maintained by public funds. The family just gets to live there as caretakers. It’s a pretty controversial system for obvious reasons.

The houses are not in the National Trust. They’re probably owned by a family foundation. One of them is not open to the public. Which actually says a lot about their finances. They have plenty of stunning art. They are rich enough.
