What is a reasonable curfew for backyard basketball (neighbors bothered by bouncing ball)

Also, how close is the hoop to the neighbor's house? As someone who has played bball for decades, I'd be annoyed if my close neighbors were playing past 8pm, and would definitely be on their case once curfew and/or local noise ordinance restrictions came into play. Basketball noise echoing off homes is loud before you even start with the smack talk.
