Nothing tastes as good as thin feels

My issue is that you all make it out to be this empowering thing to be able to eat junk food and be bigger than the fashion industry thinks women should be. I agree it's absolutely empowering, but so is saying that I don't want to eat junk food and enjoy being at a lower weight. You don't get to call me anorexic for not wanting to celebrate sitting on the couch and downing a whole bag of chips.

Everyone should be able to define what being empowered means to them.

You're really moving the goal post here. The OP quote is that NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels. Not that your second or third piece of cake (where is all this cake? I love cake) isn't as good. The clear end game here is that you do not eat anything more than the bare minimum needed for survival, because thin feels zomg good.

Yeah - go ahead and eat a sensible amount so that you are a healthy weight. That seems like a good idea. That's clearly, clearly, obviously not what OP is suggesting. But go ahead and take it that way because nothing feels as good as mis-reading pro-ana quotes in order to serve your own purposes.

Oh no -- what the PPs are implicitly saying is that the only way to be a woke, empowered woman is to be a size 6 or above. Anyone who is smaller than that is obviously a victim of disordered eating.

NP. STFU, because no one has said or implied anything of the kind.

This is what kills me. NO ONE SAID ANYTHING LIKE THIS. She's batshit.

I indulge a little here and there but it's in a manageable way.

I don't look down on morbidly obese people. I would imagine that having so much weight to lose would be overwhelming. But you've got to start somewhere...

Some of us never abused food, or our bodies, and not fear lasagna and pie.

It’s always the people who had 40 pounds to lose in the first place who think they are sooooooo virtuous...

I can think of so many things that taste better than thin feels: cake, chocolate, ice cream, pasta, croissants, fresh baked bread, good beer, cheeseburgers, tacos.....
Basically everything except salad. Thin definitely feels better than salad tastes.
And I’m pretty kidnappable. I recognize that when the zombie apocalypse comes, I’m the first one going. And my cake-stuffed body will be tasty for those zombies.

For me, nothing tastes as good as thin feels, yes.

I am losing weight now and finally am not overweight. I eat plenty of food I love on keto. I don't crave sugar or junk food at all. But if I want to have a treat, I'll have it, once or twice a week.

This exactly. Ugh. I've had many people in my life drop 20-40 pounds, and beyond. Many due to hard work, which I admire. But still, people who have maintained a healthy weight their whole lives DO NOT NEED TO BE LECTURED about how "lasagna, pie, pizza cookies" are "so not worth it."

We know how to enjoy all of those things without overdoing it, thanks. That's why we've always been able to wear clothing in straight sizes, etc. We've managed to do it without obsession, thanks.

Keep it up for 5 years and I'll be interested in your musings.

Yes. They should go back to the beauty forum. Clean eating and daily exercise is our goal over here.

The topic of this thread is not incompatible with that.

Well that’s been the fundamental difference throughout this thread. You’d think people would get that by page 8.

In my family we tend to gain weight. I was always very slim but no: potato chips, pies, cakes, candy, soft drinks, beer, cheesecake, cupcakes, nuts, other kinds of chips. You get the picture. Don’t know how I did it all those years.

You're not more virtuous if you're larger or smaller, if you wear straight or plus sizes, if your husband can or can't lift you, if you eat clean/keto/don't care, if you restrict or not, if you lost 40 lbs or gained 40 lbs.

Being a size 0 doesn't make you virtuous, nor does wearing a size 20 make you virtuous. It just means you're not running around naked.

And I would barf on my husband if he picked me up and twirled me. Best diet ever?
