What's the real story behind MadLax and Blackwolf founders?

I agree

Agree with what? The obvious? Act the clown (or worse), get the rep. This ain't the EU with their better coffee, transpo strikes and rights to be forgotten.

Don't worry- the karma gods took care of him (spent $130,000 at PVI to get his kid into CNU).

PVI is less than 20k per year so no
It's $28 for non-Catholics, and it's very easy to tack on up to $6,500 for normal "as applicable" fees before anything on extracurriculars. That's $138k. You can get it for $20k less over 4 years if you're willing to fake that you're Catholic.

faking catholic is a lot of work. most kids who attend are indeed catholic. they have a majority catholic student body:

Is it? My wife is Catholic and I'm pretty sure I could fake my way through if I needed to (other than having to drink from a cup that half the congregation has already drank from - that's a bridge too far).

I would consider this your first ‘tell’ - no one does that anymore.

I meant morally corrupt.

Agree entirely. Cramp was horrible to my son who did everything he asked (and more).

The Cavs days were something else. At one tourney the parents were so hammered the ref actually stopped the game to watch the dads doing pushups while their wives cheered them on. And this was 10 am.

He sounds like an insecure man without morals, but a love of lacrosse. In my opinion, a great coach creates a unified team, develops player skills and selflessly invests his time to teach his players the fundamentals of becoming confident and competitive men.

If his character is what I am reading, he should stick to playing lacrosse and quit coaching. It also sounds like he owes a few people, including his wife and at least one husband, a heartfelt apology for the negative impact his actions have had on their lives. Being accountable may help him become a man worthy of respect and the role of coach.

If your kid is super talented and you have a financial hardship, I'd assume that he would be happy to work out an arrangement. Many parents who paid his fees look back and say it was well worth it. Along the way, hundreds of boys have gotten into good colleges with his help and the help of the guys he hires who coach on his staff. He has hundreds of former players who are fond of him and are glad that he was their coach. He is a super competitive guy. He wrote a few harsh emails, and the recipient decided to put them on Deadspin many years ago. I knew the parties involved and it did not surprise me that there was a conflict that got to that point--i.e., it takes two to tango, as they say. One consequence of that is that Cabell has been constantly haunted by an anonymous poster on this board who has it in for him and the Blackwolf guy. Personally, I did not always see eye to eye with Cabell, but am glad my son played for him and his guys for a good 7 or 8 years. My son is too. He runs a professional organization, especially in the youth sports industry. That pretty much sums up the "real story" on Maddux from a guy who knows him a lot better than whoever keeps trying to trash him.

Ummmh, I dunno. I met Cabell approximately 38 years ago and he was only ever an utter dickhead 24/7. Sounds like he never changed.

At LAX summer camp? Because that was my takeaway as well.
