Of course not, that's not that's the point. Except for a very few schools it's all regional. Most Americans have heard of UVA and UMich. Most probably have a general sense that they are "good" schools, but people who live in the schools' regions have a much more inflated sense of the schools overall reputation than what is really warranted. Generally, that's fine since most graduates stay in the region anyways. |
She must really love those Confederate statues. They are very charming. |
Yes, many northerners seem to feel that way since they all keep moving here. |
GMU is full of students from New Jersey. |
| As a previous poster noted, UVA routinely goes on recruiting tours with Harvard and Yale. How many other state schools are invited to do that? |
You’re missing the point. The student had options at many other top law schools as well. But he chose UVA, because he was very comfortable there. As an African-American. |
Do you even realize how insecure you sound? |
| UVA has an excellent reputation and if you live in VA it's a bargain. My DS is at a different (well regarded) state school and it's a good fit for him but if he had gotten into UVA he would have gone there. I wouldn't say we are "envious" but we do acknowledge it is a great deal. All in, we are very happy with DS's education and the excellent state schools that VA offers- there seems to be a good choice for all students... |
Well duh, Virginia students aren't smart enough to get into Maryland colleges |
That's a pretty far commute. |
This thread is starting to get stupid. |
That is good, but others may be and we don't really know about it. |
Here you go. http://www.hpuwy.com/. UVA routinely tours with Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. It is known as a Public Ivy. |
Public Ivy.....lol, you are such a loser. |
