My house may be haunted

Anonymous
I think we are the victim of another hoax, fellow balloon watchers.

No one finds a piece of paper with the words psychotic and therapist on it in an old cabinet from 30 years ago.

Either it is not the OP (hence now announcing she's on her BB, so that she can justify to Jeff why her IP changed) or she is the OP and this has all been a horrible hoax.

I for one am really upset. I wasted some of my best lines on this thread! Including the movie lines!

No! You mean we've been had?!! I feel vaguely dead just thinking about it.

Our house isn't haunted, but the previous owner is still around. She died in 2006, and had lived here for 24 years (house was built in 1940). My husband swears he saw her standing in front of the TV, and once in the dining room. Our kitchen is an addition and doesn't have duct work, so it doesn't have air conditioning or heat (built in '64). During the summer of 2007, I was in the kitchen washing dishes, and it was extremely hot that day, when I felt a gush of very cold air surround me. I didn't feel threatened or scared, but I knew it was her. She loved this house and probably doesn't want to leave.

This isn't a guost story but what happened was out of the ordinary. There was a time in the ninetees where I was extremely broke. I was going through a divorce, and had decided to keep the property we bought together, even though I knew I'd be stretched thin financially. It was Christmas, and I was flying home to the midwest, thanks to my mom. I had not ONE dollar to take with me on the trip. The morning of my flight, I went running at 5am, even though it was cold and dark. I finished my run and was crossing the street to go back to my condo, when I looked down and saw a fat wad of money, $84 dollars to be exact. There weren't any houses nearby. I knew someone was looking out for me.

For those who had ghosts throwing things, can you describe in more detail? So interesting!

I posted about having a ghost that would "throw" things. For instance, on two separate occasions I had a purse sitting on the counter and I would be the only person home. I would hear a smash and look and all of a sudden the purse would have slammed against a wall about 10 feet away and my stuff would be everywhere. A roommate reported coming into the living room and all these cups that were sitting out on the counter / side tables / coffee table (we were messy college students) just hit the ground at the same time. She ran back and got us, and we saw about 10 cups laying all over the floor. There were many other incidences, but those are just two examples.

OP again. It was me who posted earlier and still on bb. Not a hoax! Those were the notes I found. The previous owners lived here for nearly 35 years and were/are weird so finding docs 30 years old wasn't surprising to me, just creepy.

Part of me wushes we'd kept them but at that time we hadn't experienced anything odd.

And the papers weren't laying around in a cabinet. It was more like they were hidden. I found them under the liners the wife had tacked down on the cabinets. Our house was a time warp and has been a real fixer- upper. We've found lots of weird stuff. The previous owners were just strange.

What if what we are hearing/seeing when we see a ghost is simply someone else in another universe seeing or hearing us?

I have had quite a few paranormal experiences...and the theories of parallel universes really makes sense to me.

I believe string theory is the theory that includes parallel universes as well as other dimensions...google it.

String theory is a joke. It all makes sense except for one crucial missing part of the equation, which everyone involved with it is willing to pretend will turn up sooner or later to prove string theory works. It will go down in history as yet another insane theory human beings once believed.

Like the theory of evolution? There is still a crucial missing part to that equation as well, yet millions of people still believe it.

Evolution is a theory in the scientific sense of the word. It is based on empirical data, not ideas. It is fact. No crucial missing part that I can think of, unless you mean the "missing link" - which isn't really necessary in order for the data to be valid.

Yeah, and the missing link to string theory is the existence of more than the dimensions we are aware of or can prove exist. Without them string theory doesn't make sense, so let's just pretend these other dimensions exist, and then -- presto, string theory is crystal clear! Oh brother. (Am I missing something about string theory?)

Eh, not really. String theory's main criticisms are that (1) it can't currently be tested and (2) that there are so many string theory solutions you can find one such solution that will predict any given phenomenon but currently no one solution which will predict them all. Therefore, is string theory really useful? Physicists have accepted that the four basic dimensions (3 of space and one of time) are insufficient to explain the world. That has been true since the 20's.

Was there any mention of profanity or a troubling tendency to invoke William Styron?

William Styron would have hated you. Yup, old William would have had a field day with you.

Why? Psychosis has definitely been around for a while now. In fact it is probably more likely a kid would be called that 30 years ago.

Let's see, these days they would be called, "spirited!" Or "active" or something.
