String theory is a joke. It all makes sense except for one crucial missing part of the equation, which everyone involved with it is willing to pretend will turn up sooner or later to prove string theory works. It will go down in history as yet another insane theory human beings once believed. |
Why are we so afraid of death? I don't mean our own death, I mean with other people's deaths. Why are we afraid to go to a cemetary at night? Why do we have trouble sleeping after someone we know vaguely dies suddenly? |
Whoya gonna call? |
Maybe those are the ones who become ghosts, the ones who go vaguely instead of boldly. The ones whose deaths are more exact and definite are just -- dead. |
Like the theory of evolution? There is still a crucial missing part to that equation as well, yet millions of people still believe it. |
OP are you still out there? I'd love to hear more about the mom's notes that you found. |
For sure. Vaguely going would bite. Probably better boldly to go. |
How come places are always haunted by people who died 100+ years ago? How come places are never haunted by someone who died in like the 1980's???
|
Evolution is a theory in the scientific sense of the word. It is based on empirical data, not ideas. It is fact. No crucial missing part that I can think of, unless you mean the "missing link" - which isn't really necessary in order for the data to be valid. |
Yeah, and the missing link to string theory is the existence of more than the dimensions we are aware of or can prove exist. Without them string theory doesn't make sense, so let's just pretend these other dimensions exist, and then -- presto, string theory is crystal clear! Oh brother. (Am I missing something about string theory?) |
I posted the remark about scientific theory - I should clarify that I am not the person who mentioned string theory. My understanding of what string theory even is is incredibly limited.
Maybe you are missing something about string theory - but not nearly as much as I am. ![]() |
OP? Things ok? |
Definitely more than 3 days. I don't know exactly, but many weeks or months later, at least. Maybe the OP has caught on and is busy running, what with all the Twizzlers getting thrown at her. ![]() |
Better forms of communication to "follow the light." Daily newspapers, fax machines, and now the internet. Thanks to email Ghosts will be extinct in no time. |
OP here. Been away and only have my bb to type with.
I don't know what the "issues" are/were with the daughter. Psychotic and therapist were words written down on the paper. The paper itself was really old and I found it under some cabinet liners in the kitchen near where the phone jack used to be located. Some papers, mostly old Rx, went back nearly 30 years. Creeped me out! I showed DH and we agreed to throw them away. I asked our sitter, an older and very matter-of-fact woman, if she'd ever heard anything while we were away (she's the only other person who would be in our home alone) and she said yes BUT that she felt uncomfortable talking about it. So even she's freaked! I don't think we're necessarily in danger. My aunt lived in a haunted house in St. Louis where the spirit, a woman, only showed up on he anniversary of her death. She was a protective spirit. I hope that's what we have. I definitely feel someone watching us... I just don't know who it could be. We know nothing of the original owners but I plan to look into it. |
