What Do you Say to Inappropriately Prying, Nosy Parents about College Acceptances?

Not if your relationship is normal.

It is fine to inquire. It is not fine to push if it is clear someone doesn't want to answer.

We are not having a graduation party, either.

As for "some idea of the process" - ask her in the fall once the kid is gone if she has some advice. Then listen but let her guide the conversation.
