Oh I expect the whole 5th grade then.

Beverly Farms troll, please up your game.

Mail hasn't arrived yet, but I am guessing 99% includes a range of scores, and only those at the very top got in. Apparently, MCPS decided not to give us the actual scores. Remember, this was a pilot...maybe the test was too easy? They could very well change the process next year.

Didn't really want the apple, it was sour right?

99% on all 4 categories, rejected by both schools, not even on the waiting lists. how likely can DD get a spot through appealing?

My kid had an identical profile and was rejected, but he has multiple classmates with MAP-M scores in the 180s. They are Asian. I'll be curious to see if they get in. More surprising was the fact that he didn't get into Eastern with a 148 MAP-R, a college-level lexile score, and straight As (with many A+s) at an HGC..

Are you that ignorant? Really?

Honestly, I think it's diversity and peer cohort. A successful appeal only gets you onto the waitlist, so why bother.

It's starting to sound like a whole lot of applicants had 99% in all categories.

There are not GPAs in Elementary schools. You are probably the old guy in pjs who has no kids. Go away.

I am most definitely a mom of a kid at an HGC. It was short hand way of saying he got all A's first quarter, which is all they considered since there were no grades last year. I don't remember his MAP R score, it was pretty high, 240's or 250's, whatever it was it was a drop from 4th grade Spring; I just had checked his MAP M score for a different reason and so remembered it. He was rejected for both TMPS and Eastern. I'm providing data that it was not just kids with high test scores from W schools that got rejected. I'm pretty surprised it was not even a waitlist, for either school.

Yeah I'm a mom of a kid at a HGC too and her MAP M is in the 240's as well as her MAP R and she had A's as well along with the 99%'s on this cogat test or whatever it was. Rejected. We are in the Eastern part of the county. This is a bit weird. It will be interesting to see how many kids get in from her class.

Or the parents on this forum really care about their kids' education. This is the real reason why the parents report their results here, otherwise no other explanation why their kids were not accepted. Parents with kids having low scores will not report here since they can justify the reason why their kid got a rejection letter.

Weren't PARCC scores part of the process?

Also I'm a poster from above and my kid got a 5 on the ELA portion of the PARCC and a 4 on the math.
