| You can’t be for real. Seriously...society is truly in trouble. You were so wrong in dress, actions, etc. Wow your parents must be proud. Or even scarier, they are. |
I'm not white, Ms. Loud and Wrong. Thanks for the tip on the proper use of shade. It's good to see you get something right.

Jeans with holes should not be part of anyone’s work wardrobe. One time when I dropped off my kid at preschool, the teacher was wearing jeans with holes and I remember thinking it was really inappropriate. She probably thought it was “cute” but it was very unprofessional. If an intern wore ripped jeans I would say something to them about appropriate work clothes. |
| I am old. i wore ripped jeans the first time they came around. I don't wear them now because I would feel like an idiot. I certainly wouldn't wear them to work. |
PP here, you're very welcome, dear. I know figuring out proper garb keeps you busy, so don't worry about what shade is. (And yes, that was shade.) |
+1 Nor is leaving ear buds in once you arrive at your office building, particularly if you have encountered a person you know. |
Agree with all of this. I wear ripped jeans on the weekends and out on my own time, but I’d never wear them to work, even on casual Friday in my paltry local government office job. |
|
Ripped jeans are never professional. They can be super cute -
but cute does not = professional. Even in a casual environment. I'm not a stuffy old biddy either. I assume this is common sense but I've seen worse, so no. I would never assume a person is most familiar with their own office dress code because people like the OP are clearly ignorant. |
|
Now that's shade. |
+1. OP seems she wants to be perceived as cool, but she used the term incorrectly. |
|
First, ripped jeans are not appropriate professional office attire ever (vs. working in retail selling ripped jeans, in which case go for it).
Second, why are you listening to a podcast on your nano during work hours? Is it work-related? |
really have to wonder what position she holds and what agency this is that allows that. |
I totally missed the nano reference. At first I thought OP must be in her early 20s but there's no way 20 year olds are using an ipod nano... I'm going to guess she's an admin. |
| OP, your unprofessional attitude is going to catch up with you. |
