This is shade, right?

The OP's question stinks of troll.

Haha, you made me laugh, PP.

Thanks!

My dress is not unusual for where I work. I do not expect everyone to agree, though. I wanted to know if you all thought she was being a low-key biotch.

I think you are obviously an immature millennial. No one gets to the top of the org chart dressing like you describe. You'll be whining in 5-10 years about the promotions you've been passed over for.

Barf. SV bro culture is total garbage.

And I'm under 35, if it matters.

You literally described half my office, but we are tech focused so probably more of a "if you do the job you can where what the hell you want" vibe

Obviously English grammar skills and spelling aren't a requirement for you "techies." Jesus, PP.

Whoa, this blew up! I hadn't expected that.

Actually, I work in the IT directorate for my agency. Our dress code is lax, especially on Thursdays when we're encouraged to wear team jerseys. Some of you are ridiculous. I don't owe a stiff old biddy an answer to her busy body attempt at an insult.

**Those of you defending my position and/or response to her, THANK YOU!

Lastly, I didn't use the word hater (I never use that word) as one PP suggested. Although, shade is, in fact, used properly in my post/title.

Carry on...

Hey OP, a tip - DCUM is not the place to come looking for validation. Get a friend for that. You got flamed for reason and now you've just proved your immaturity with this response. Grow up already.

Second, why are you listening to a podcast on your nano during work hours? Is it work-related?

really have to wonder what position she holds and what agency this is that allows that.

I totally missed the nano reference.
At first I thought OP must be in her early 20s but there's no way 20 year olds are using an ipod nano...

I'm going to guess she's an admin.

I love how people on this board love to hate on the admins. I'm an admin and had to teach several of the associates in my firm how to dress properly.

I love admins. The good ones are worth their weight in gold. The bad ones, though. . .dead weight that deserves to be cut adrift.

+1 and I am 29 years old. I think she was a bit rude to ask you that, and don't really care how you responded, but your dress and mannerisms are inappropriate for any workplace office

+2

OP, you know she found out/will find out who you are, for refusing to talk to her, right? Why so insulting? You are obviously not professional enough, and she called you on it, and you proved it. So, what is your point? Are you just trolling?
