Then stop lying. Undocumented children are not getting free braces courtesy of the US government.
You're just reposting open-border talking points over and over. I work in public schools and see it every day! American taxpayers are paying for medical and dental work (inc. orthodontia) for undocumented children. Who do you think you're kidding, destitute undocumented kids can't afford $3k-7k braces, yet most of them have them on their teeth! The wealthy and the undocumented older teens have perfect teeth -- only 30-40% of the middle class families seem to be able to afford braces for their kids. We try to work with middle class families who have a child with really bad teeth (which leads to taunting and kills self esteem) when the families can't swing it.
Then please tell us the specific program that pays for these braces. We have requested this info many times. I am waiting. Otherwise, stop lying.
+1. I'd like to know this info as well. I posted upthread about working in clinics in Pg and Montgomery counties. Neither county covers braces for undocumented children. In Montgomery County we do have a wonderful orthodontist that we work with who does give a discount and I believe she also offers payment plans. This is where most of our patients who need orthodontia go if they can afford it. I'm a conservative in favor of tighter immigration laws, but c'mon, saying tons of undocumented kids have braces is not a salient point in your argument. I see many many of these kids. If their parents work hard enough, they most certainly can afford it.
