Gilmore Girls A Year in the Life

She wrote Rory for age 22. Not age 32. that makes a lot more sense.

Disappointing. Sorry I watched it.

I hated the ending too. I liked that Luke and Lorelei were together and got married, that was sweet and cute. I loved seeing the townspeople, Kurt, etc...They should have shown more Lane. I liked seeing what was up with Paris, Emily, etc...

Okay to the negatives: Really annoyed about the amount of time devoted to musicals. Geez, I think the summer episode had a full 30 minutes of just people singing. I'm just not a musical person.

And I really hated what they did to Rory. Ugh, so basically she was Logan's "mistress" or whatever and she also had a boyfriend she was stringing along as well? I mean, it wasn't really okay what she did with Dean back in the day, but at least you can blame it on age! She was 19 then and now at 32, she should know better. It was so selfish and just not really funny. I thought it was amusing at first in the Winter episode but she should've just broke up with Paul at the end of the episode. On a side note, I loved seeing Dean and was happy to know he was happily married with another kid on the way. And still pissed at the way Rory treated Dean who was nothing but always kind and sweet to her...

The career thing I get but ugh sleeping with Logan knowing he was already engaged and she technically already had a boyfriend? She didn't seem the least remorseful. They kind of ruined the Rory character for me. Also annoyed that she thought being a teacher was beneath her. Seriously, I never thought that being a freelance writer was all that prestigious anyway! And then I was annoyed that she didn't even prepare for the interview with the website company. And also annoyed that she seemed like she was so above it to work at her hometown newspaper. Ugh...

The life and death brigade annoyed the crap out of me. Okay, so these rich guys just "buy" an inn because they can and for their stupid game or whatever. Could have done without the whole stupid scene.

Completely agree with all of the above. Yes, I was happy that Luke and Lorelai FINALLY got married, but it was annoying to me that it took them a decade to do so. The whole "Wild" walk was so incredibly overdone and dragged on waaaaay too long. Yes, we get the joke, move on!

That's actually a major thing that's always irritated me about GG, even though I loved the show. They take one gag and bang the audience over the head with it for far too long, until it's not even funny anymore.

Hate Logan. Ugh. Smarmy and way too sure of himself, as usual. Wasn't crazy about Rory's character this time around, though I loved her clothes! She really made some stupid decisions, primarily being Logan's booty call even while he was engaged. So, is he the father of her baby? I can only assume he is. Or that Wooky character she hooked up with?? Yet another stupid storyline. Why oh why can't these women just get married before getting pregnant? Even my tween daughter asked that question.

The musical actually cracked me up - for about the first five minutes. Then it just went on far too long. I also found certain parts really funny, like Eraserhead Kirk and everyone bringing in their own food for the movie. Oh, also the secret bar. That cracked me up.

I think the character I liked the most this time around was Emily. She grew so much and I felt her scenes were really heartfelt. The one time I cried was when Lorelai called her to tell her about the time she left school to go to the mall and her dad came to get her. That struck home for me, since something similar had happened with my own dad, who also passed away.

All in all, I would give this reboot a very solid "Meh." Very disappointed.

PP here. Forgot to mention, I did like all the cameos. That was fun.

Same here. There was absolutely zero chemistry with Rory and Jess - so disappointed. I really thought they'd reconnect and realize they were meant to be together.

So do we think Rory's pregnancy is a surrogate for Paris? It would make sense, she needs the money...

She's always been imperfect, as have lorelai and Emily. But many of us continue to identify and like them in spite of their character flaws.

They're all real and messy and uncomfortable at times.

I have very few complaints except for the
Musical (liked it, but could have been shorter. However, adore Sutton Foster and all the other Bunheads cameos-Sasha, Ginny!) and lack of more Lane.

I was never invested in which dude Rory would end up with so that prob helped.

Also loved the Arrested Development shout outs with Paul.

And also the girl from Bunheads who interviewed Rory at the online magazine. Can't remember her name though.

This article summed up how I felt about the revival.

^ That's a good point about the 30-something gang. They are "beneath" Rory, who we're supposed to feel sympathy before but she is a spoiled, rich brat.

We don't have to watch Rory's story because we've already seen how it turns out with Loralie and Luke. Full circle! The Palladinos parted ways with the show after season 6 so they had nothing to do with season 7. This was their preferred season 7 and it would have worked if Rory was 23 and Loralie was 39 but it didn't seem to work with the ages they all were.

If they so desperately wanted Rory to follow in her mom's glowing footsteps they should have had her get pregnant her first year of Chilton by Tristan.
We could have watched her struggles and see her still graduate and go on to college. That would be a story to watch.

A spoiled, pregnant 32 year old bum who is apparently too good to work is pathetic. If I wanted to watch Sex & The City again I would have got the dvds.

At least the women on Sex & the City had jobs.

Please explain Berta. Her whole family moved in? That was bizzare and so unlike Emily to let her do that.

I can't get over how Rory thinks she's better than the Thirtysomethibng gang.

Also, I hate Logan. He is such a punk. I hate how he is so condescending and so cocky.

I liked the episodes but for the weird musical and the Wild section.

I liked all the cameos and allusions that die-hard fans would get. Like we finally got to see Mr. Kim!

Loved seeing adult Paris!

It's funny that the Gilmore Girls writers think that old money WASPs still run everything.
