Ok. Now address all the other things in OP's post. |
I am not intimately familiar, as I live in NoVa. But I know OP was wrong about metro. I can take stab at the rest An incompetent tax office that steals money out of bank accounts instead of issuing owed refunds; An "emergency parking" system that is basically never enforced; Not familiar with these issues. No traffic police while we have increasingly dangerous roads and hordes of people riding illegal motorcycles everywhere; Traffic enforcement is a problem across the region. DC has certainly been ahead of other jurisdictions in adopting a Vision Zero policy on ped safety, and has aggressively moved forward with complete streets projects. But that is mostly DDOT, I guess, not MPD. Litter and trash everywhere and apparently no solution; I don't see that, but I spend most of my DC time in places with BID's which do their own pick up I guess. A huge rat problem (reported in numerous sourced this week); I suspect most old cities have that. A zoning board that can't be bothered to prevent eyesores or dangerous non-permitted flips; LOL! Been to the inner burbs lately? Maybe the Zoning Commission (it is a commission, isn't it, not a board?) is too busy dealing with appeals from NIMBYs against mixed use projects. A 911 system that is so bad multiple people have died because emergency responders went to the wrong address or didn't show up at all; Thats a real problem, and part of the reason we are not in DC now. I think the biggest problem with DC govt. A seeming inability to do anything about spiking crime rates. Crime spiked in many cities in 2015. IIUC it went down in DC in 2016. Its still higher than it was in 2014, but lower than it was in the bad old days. What do our tax dollars do, again? Why don't you check out the budget? |
Ha! Ol' Hillary never did anything for any infrastructure, and never will. How tight is your bubble? |
