Georgetown Visitation Lacrosse- Recruiting Practices

Not very likely PP, as there are no rosters for any sports at Visi -- including sports where there is no such thing as early recruiting/commits.

As noted above, a number of girls schools don't post rosters out of concerns for privacy. Other schools that are very concerned with privacy, such as Sidwell, also don't post rosters.

It can also be as simple as schools not wanting to bring on an additional employee to manage web content.

"The Georgetown Visitation Lacrosse Program has arrived." At 2-2? Arrogance will get you every single time.

What sports do they recruit for. Yes lacrosse. But softball? Soccer?

Can we just keep the focus on the shit show that's the visi lax program?

Visi lost to Potomac today 9-7. Pretty big upset. Dont know if it says more about Viisi or Potomac though.

Yeah and Holy Child beat Potomac last week. Parity is spreading. Holton is really strong this year too. Good to see competition.

Potomac has been on the rise for the past few years. Four years ago, they are a cupcake on Visi schedule .

They have one of the best up and coming girls coaches in the region.

There is no excuse for Visi, a school of their size, to loseto a program like Potomac.

Visi has as much talent as SSSAS, currently ranked #2 in US. Give the new coaches a chance to develop the program.

No, they don't have as much talent as SSSAS. Not even close. But that's beside the point. The new coaches inherited an already developed, established program that according to the few and mighty, just needed different coaches. Well, they got the coaches they deserved. Karma's a bitch when it rolls back around.

I don't have kids playing lax at any of these schools but I did see the Visi beat Bishop Ireton (which was ranked in the top 10 nationally pre-season) last month so all is not gloomy at Visi lax. I do think things are moving closer to parity these days across the DMV is girls lax.

But it was a hard fought game. HC won by one. And Holy Child has traditionaly been the better team. Potomac is definitely improving. Its a team to watch, and may start to attract more accomplished players if they continue to win. Holton is on the same trajectory. They should be very strong this year. Both Holton and Potomac have ramped up their "recruiting" and have a few strong middle school players waiting in the wings. Its nice to see girls lacrosse getting better across the DC area. The more strong teams (like the IAC and WCAC have) the better. SSSAS is still the best in the area by a wide margin but seeing some other privates getting strong is a positive trend. Hopefully it will continue.

As does Holy Child, their middle school team has players from MC Elite, Stars and M&D. With more coming in the next few years. The new coach at Holy Child also coaches one of the club teams in the area. So they should be on the rise in the near future as well. Visi is coming back to the pack, and the others are beginning to get stronger.
