His high school in Florida crushed SSSA earlier this season and just beat American Heritage. He also expanded his M&D club to Florida and is having lots of success there too. |
Even the dreaded KJ alludes to the importance of the draw control in WAPO today after the article states that "faceoff superiority (is) crucial...The Saints won 14 of 19 draw controls..." |
Calling BS on this. Would be amazing if you people were to one day find that the anonymity on this site disappeared and your actual name appeared next to all of your past posts. Instead of coveting what the lady has done or trying to bring her down to your low level, why not just do some work and make yourself a little better. Granted, even if the lord came down and granted you the ultimate lax wisdom, you probably still wouldn't be able to equal the ~800 wins and boat load of championship banners that she has. But better than just hanging out here being jealous. |
One game? How many times do you think Visi has beaten Saints, ever? And don't kid yourself, there is only 1 championship. It was decided yesterday. Better luck next time, except your entire starting team is graduating, so might be done a few days earlier next year. |
That isn’t why, you must not live in Baltimore. |
It really is why, and you must be a gossip monger. |
I am not affiliated with Saints or Visi, admire both coaches, and have been watching both teams for years . IMHO, this year, Visi is the better team. Kathy, in her wisdom, figured out how to beat them for this one game (draw control and keeping the ball from Visi at all costs) and Visi was caught flat footed. If these two teams were to play again this week, Katie would have figured out a strategy to address it. KJ and KM are both incredibly strong coaches (and women) who know lacrosse inside and out. Both know what it takes to win. Both are loved by the girls they coach. Both are flawed, like all of us. Anyone who doesn't see that is letting personal issues cloud their vision. Lets just give it a rest. |
Great post, thank you! |
Right, he left unexpectedly right at the start of the lacrosse season with his daughter still at the school because he suddenly realized he wasn’t being paid enough. And again, if you believe this, you don’t have a kid in a Baltimore private. The reasons for his departure were an open secret just like Poggi’s from Gilman. And neither departure had anything to do with their ability to win games. |
She's a good coach when she has talent on the field. Its her third year coaching the Cubs and you can't deny her success with the talent that was developed by previous coaches and travel programs. The question is her behavior, playing favorites and her win at all cost attitude a good look for Visi. Its not like the program was not nationally ranked in the past and she inherited almost all her players. Many who have gone on to play at D1 lacrosse programs. The question is she able to sustain a program. Will she be a coach that will attract the best talent to go to Visi the next couple of years or will her reputation cost Visi the best players. I think the program will struggle to attract the best players. The true mark of a great coach is their ability to have talent seek them out because they know the coach will take them to the next level. Jury is still out on her being a great coach. |
^^^ Excellent post. |

+1 She plays the best players and she has a winning team. She is in this for the long haul and it shows in how she has developed her team. I agree that there are some posters with old grudges who seem to have it out for this coach. Let it go. |
Clearly I am not from Baltimore. If it is an open secret, why not just tell everyone. |
i think I wrote a fair assessment of the situation she’s relatively new to the DC lax scene. I think it’s fair to say she had success with another coaches players and she has alienated some coaches in the league with her attitude. I know she has alienated some parents and embarrassed VISI on the sidelines on occasion. So there is some baggage because of her behavior we will see if she can build a program on her own. Let’s see how she acts in a n inevitable down year. I have no grudge just stating facts. She has chirped to anyone who will listen and trashed multiple coaches and players over the last two years. Everyone has seen her run up the score and celebrate wildly on the sidelines. No grudge it’s just what I have witnessed I give her credit she believes in herself. The question for Visi is it worth it. |
