Why would you put truesdell or garrison but not West? If your IB is Brightwood, West is closer than Garrison and has an actual chance of being decent beyond prek. We are IB for West and have always considered it a decent fallback. We are currently at one of the school's you list in your top 5. |

Because from what I could tell, they didn't accept OOB last year, and I've read here it's not a safety. |

In previous years, just about anyone who applied to Bridges got in, even if in triple digits on the WL. This is definitely going to change because their reputation and the new building are major pluses. Still, this is the last easy year to get into an HRC on a major upward slope. |

FYI it's just Shepherd. I would also add West (or CMI) and remove Truesdell as I don't see Truesdell as being better than Brightwood. Personally, I would rank Shepherd first if I lived in Brightwood. I would probably move Bridges down to after ITS. |

I think the data shows who was initially accepted, but it wasn't ever updated to show waitlist movement. So there may have been a few OOB accepted eventually. It could mean starting the year at Brightwood and then transferring during the year if there's a little movement. The waitlists for a relatively small neighborhood school like that are probably not as long as some of the city-wide charter schools, so you might have a better shot. |

The reason is that anecdotally, I have heard particularly negative things about Brightwood, but not about Truesdell (granted, I haven't heard much about Truesdell at all, except that someone said they know someone who is happy there. I wasn't able to go to the open house). Do you think it would be reasonable to replace Brightwood with West, i.e. not list our IB at all? Or is that too risky given my list? |

Wanted two safety schools. MV seems like another long shot so it fell off the list.

What's your plan B? Can you keep your daycare arrangement? Be honest with yourself. If you were matched with Brightwood would you send your child or just try again next year. |
