What years are the "aging years" ( for women)

That's probably true but then again, when we see a 50ish woman who looks great, we see a 50ish woman who looks great. SHE sees a 50ish woman who looks good... but she also remembers what she looked like at 20/30/40. I imagine when I get to my 50s it will be hard to believe I look great in comparison to what I USED to look like.

True. I peaked (looks wise) in my late teens/early 20's. That was when everything truly was very effortless for me.

Mid 30's I had kids and.....it's been a battle of the bulge ever since. It's like constantly bailing water to stay afloat. Crazy hard.

I'm 36 and peaking now. I was always thin, but relied on good genes to keep my body. Having children really motivated me to work out. I looked goofy in my 20s and feel like I'm so much more attractive now. I have a better sense of style and have the money to afford to get my hair done and wear nice clothes. I'm really enjoying this time in my life.

Nail on the head!!

I was positively hot mid-20s-mid 30s. Head turner.

At 44- I still look good. People that met me when I moved into neighborhood at 40 will comment I look great.

I know what I came from and I've already passed my best years.

I think aging can be harder on attractive women. Even if you never relied on your looks you notice an obvious treatment in behavior/cat calls (not that the cat calls were ever enjoyable) when you get older.

I also think when I meet snotty 20-early 30 something's 'bitch- I was so much hotter at your age and no way in hell will you look as good as I do in 20 years'. Ha!

The moment you decide you don't want to have sex any more. I'm 47, so it hasn't happened for me yet, and I'm continually baffled by the people who post on DCUM (many of whom I suspect are far younger than I am) who naively delude themselves to think they can "opt out" or "outsource" sex and still stay married.

As long as you have a healthy sex drive, you're not only living, you're thriving.

Ugh, just writing this is depressing me.

This is me exactly - at 37 I could have passed for 30. Now that I'm 40, I definitely look 40 (or perhaps even a few years older). Early menopause (at age 35 - 36) definitely has caught up with me, very suddenly, with regard to stomach fat spread. Ugh is right. I think the only answer is massive diet and heavy exercise. But my skin would still be wrinkly, spotted and saggy, no matter what I think.

Thank goodness my *attitude* is still perky! (joke.)

This is a result of standing on your feet all day.

for me-age 40 that coincides with having a toddler. I notice my crows feet are about 50% worse now than a year ago. I also have a total waddle of a chin. But I am gonna hang on as long as possible. I get botox between the eyes and I plan to get my chin lipo'd this summer.

I am 38 but everyone says I look 20ish. I was thinking of joining the police department and doing undercover work in college.

LOL! You and every other middle aged mom on here. A bunch of unicorns running around!

I'm 48 but look 45

No really all my friends say this.....but for some reason no one in their 20's say this....I sometimes I wonder why....

You can gain weight and still have a sex life at home. And you can look very attractive/put together and have some real problems in paradise. Looks can be very deceiving..

I do lots of chemical peels, exercise, retinoids, etc. I'm hoping to age gracefully.

Sorry, but they were just being nice. Yes, you do look 50.

Up until 55 you can still look like 40 forever, but after that... older looking. Like grandparent older looking.

Take lots of selfies now. It'll come.

31 yo pp here.

I keep hearing people say that kids will age you.

I have two kids ( 3 yo and 6 mo).

For the women that have aged due to kids...what ages were your kids when the bulk of the aging occurred?

You are so obnoxious. No it's not about kids, it's about age. As you will be forty soon, and fifty etc, if you are lucky and don't die sooner. Ad it will happen much much more quickly than you can imagine. When you are 30 it feels like your whole life is in front of you. At 40, you understand your best years are gone.
