Totally agree with 11:11! This thread is supposed to be about WISC scores (and appeals). A PP offered the opinion that if a child wasn't found eligible the first time around, just give it up. It occured to me that the PP may be wanting to dissuade others from appealing and getting into the program? If the WISC shows that a child is gifted (and the WISC is apparently considered more informative in that regard than the NNAT/CogAT) then it would seem to provide ample support for concluding that the child is in fact a strong candidate for the AAP. |
Of course! Then there is a greater chance for my kids appeal. |
we didn't need to do a WISC so I don't know anything about it. I do know you pays your money and you takes your chances.
Even if it is a good test (for IQ), I don't see why it alone would outweigh the CogAt and GBRS score. |
Agreed. But apparently it does in most cases. |

WHY YOU ARE TALKING OTHER THAN WISC SCORES HERE ????? ****************************************************** |
You need to take a serious chill pill! All of this post, today and other days, speaks of the WISC Scores and issues/questions about the test and test scores. |
Fool! Your control freak is showing again! |
Hi, I just got back from my interview and here is my daughters FSIQ 138. She had a cogat of 128 and a NNAT of 134. What do you think her chances are with a GBRS of 9. |
I think she will in. 138 is high enough. |
Based on the posts in these threads, the 138 plus the good CogAT and NNAT scores should be very promising. |
Thanks for your input |
Fool! Your control freak is showing again!
I am replying to this above FOOL....who has replied back to my post. .... It is not controlling but causes problems for others who want to search for WISC scores in this thread. So don;t act like Fool. |
this is very high. Did you go to GMU or a private tester? |
You just can't stop yourself! |
Does anyone have a feel for what is the minimum WISC score that will suffice on appeal, where the GBRS is 12? Thanks! |
