You can also get far better prices from somewhere like anthro or etsy. |
I can't wait until Jeff puts you on blast for your advertising. |
I have been a stylist for 2 years, and EVERY SINGLE TIME I make an order, at least one item is defective. It doesn't matter if I order two item or 20. At least one thing is broken. The quality control is terrible, and the quality is completely inconsistent. It's overpriced, and the only time I feel like it's worth it is when I can buy it at half-off for new samples. I'm terminating my "stylist status" this month. |
I think it's another stupid at-home sales program for stay-at-home moms to try to make some $$ while staying at home. Dumb. I decline all invites to any types of parties like this! |
Stella and Dot is not for everyone. If you prefer to pick up jewellery at the $5 table at your local flee market.... then keep away and leave it to those of us that enjoy trendy lasting pieces. Many celebrities wear Stella and Dot and I can't believe the negative reviews unless it is from the competition!! I own several pieces and enjoy them a lot! I've even changed my mind and had no trouble whatsoever in getting a refund! |
Crap but trendy. |
I would venture to guess people have more disdain for the salesyness than the jewelry. It's cute but looks like j crew/south mood/nordies and I would rather purchase in a store or online than at a party. I don't care for the parties or the pressure. |
It is ok. Some of the pieces are to my taste and some are not. I think it is overpriced for what it is, but some of the designs are cute. I've purchased some but don't generally go to the parties because I don't really enjoy them. |
Because I don't find it fun to shop at parties and I feel uncomfortable when a friend is trying to sell me something, because it is more complicated to say no than at a store. It is fine if other people find the parties fun, but it isn't fun for me. Everyone has different tastes. |
This is why I've never gone to one even though two of my close friends sell the stuff. I've been on their site a couple of times and do like some of the jewelry, but it's really expensive and seems like the same quality as any of the other chain stores that you can easily go to, decide on your own, and use a coupon. I just don't get why, if I was in the market for costume jewelry, I wouldn't just go to a chain store in the mall where the jewelry would be cheaper and where I wouldn't have a feeling of guilt and pressure because I was attending a party my friend was throwing with the sole purpose of making money off of me. |
And secretly, I wish that both of these friends, who are both stay at home moms who said they started into S&D because they "needed something to do" and "why not make a little money on the side!" would have just taken on a volunteer job or something with purpose. There I said it. |
I'm a sahm who also works from home (not selling s and d) and I completely agree |
Pp here:
Plus how much money could these ladies possibly be making a month selling this crap? |
This, exactly. I do like their scarves, though. My fave is S&D and I get compliments on it all the time. |
Oh no just ordered some jewelry last night at a party, hope it won"t be as cheap as everyone says! |
