Called a Bimbo over crossing guards?

This is the Westbriar island in the Hunter Mill district that got turned into a Westbriar/Kilmer/Marshall island during the last boundary review. You drive past Colvin Run on your way to Westbriar, but Meren and Lady rebuffed any efforts to move that area to Colvin Run/Cooper/Langley. God forbid these kids attend the nearest elementary school and the kids who live much further out attend Herndon schools rather than Cooper/Langley.

It doesn't matter much to Melanie because it's a small area in Hunter Mill so not a lot of votes. But when she prattles on about talking "truth to power" everyone should know that she's really about "votes for me."

But we don’t need high school crossing guards. Fairfax is the only nearby jurisdiction that had them. Budget responses showed there were not accidents in those areas. Of course there might be more if the guards are removed but we don’t know.

Some high schools require students to cross busy roads without stoplights. West Springfield and Rolling comes to mind.

A kid will get hit and killed in the morning crossing that road without crossing guards.

Traffic cops with real training need to be at these locations.

Bimbo is an interesting word choice. I'm not defending it, just saying I'd like to better understand if it's how McKay refers to all women who piss him off or if it was a specially chosen word for Meren?

McKay is 50, but sounds like he's 70. He's basically a middle-class stiff who went to a Catholic high school and then JMU. He didn't grow up around the most sophisticated crowd in the area.

The entire Board of Supervisors is up for re-election next year. Does this tank his chances of being re-elected? Obviously a Democrat is going to win the seat but he could get primaried.

FCPS - The price tag for salaries of 52 employees in the “Chief Equity Office” of Fairfax County Public Schools: $6.4 million.

Can't afford $16.50 an hour for a few crossing guards watching over tiny elementary school kids at close intersections which are always mobbed by drivers who barely know how to drive, ferrying their snowflake to/from school that is 1/2 mile away.

Agreed the FCPS budget is bloated and there is no reason this issue should have come up. McKay didnt fight for the crossing guards or conduct himself well though and he seems to have no regard for his own behavior nor understands safety issues.
